I had a sebaceous cyst removed from my head this morning, so that was exciting. The doctor called me a 'good girl' twice, and said I was very brave. I wanted to point out I was 38 and not 12, but actually it was kind of comforting.

He numbed my head and then there was a lot of pressure and muttering about needing the non-toothed scissors, which the nurse did not possess. Then more muttering and more pressure, and then he said "Haha! I got it all." Then the weird dragging dead feeling of having numb skin stitched. That was the worst thing.

Now I have vast dressing stuck to the side of my head, and a new bald patch.

After that, Mr Lux walked me home in case I had a funny turn, and left me on the sofa watching the Olympics.

Commentator quote of the day, from the men's high bar finals: "That man deserves a biscuit!"

"A biscuit" = commentator speak for "a good shag".

Brave girls probably deserve both. :-)

Hehe. A good shag - for reals? I want to believe that so much.

I have a few of those on my back/neck/shoulders that I've been waiting to get rid of, only I had no idea what they're called in English, so thanks for that! :D

I hope it heals well for you.

From: [identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com
Oh noes, poor you. I hope they get removed soon.

Thank you - they did keep telling me it might get infected, but I hope it doesn't.

My dermo told me to alternate with Neosporin and, if I remember correctly, Biosporin, under the bandage, for that, when I had one removed from elsewhere. Healed right up.

Hope you're feeling fine.

Thanks for the tip. I took ibuprofen in the end it helped, and things seem to be healing nicely.

Eeep! You deserve a biscuit too! And the hottest of the gymnasts to serve the biscuit to you.

Yes yes! This is absolutely what I need to make everything better.

Goyjo & Hakkai gymnasts. Oh yes.

(or perhaps Gojyo is a diver, and Hakkai the gymnast?)

Date: 2008-08-21 05:39 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com
Ahahaa. O yes. Gojyo would be the most hottest diver ever to grace the deep end. "Deep end". And Hakkai would be passing the time before his pommel horse final by watching the diving...

I get those rotten things on the scalp too. Usually I leave them alone and they leave me alone, but I've had to have two of them removed because they got inflamed. One of the docs really had The Touch, and it hardly hurt at all and only needed one stitch. The other was more in the mode of your doctor, and I was shaking like the proverbial leaf by the time he'd finished. I'm surprised they had to cut away that much of your hair, though - mine was left pretty much alone in both cases.

From: [identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com
They are a pain, aren't they? I'd had this one for many years, but it swelled up and had got kind of big - they said they were worried about the hair getting in the way of the stitches, as it needed several.

I want your comentators. Let's switch countries.

Lately I'm getting more and more hooked on the Olympic games... all that bare skin, sculptured bodies, awesome feats and raw emotion... addicting.

Date: 2008-08-21 05:40 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com
The commentators are cute! "Imagine 18,000 pairs of eyes, all staring down at you."

Yes yes. The raw emotion and hot bodies are extremely conducive to fic writing, I find. They put me in the right state of mind.

Hipster! Hahaha. O yeah. I'm gonna get all my hair cut short next month, so I've kind of planned around the bald patch.

I'm feeling better, thanks. Also, hand in pocket Rogi is hot. Did you see his outfits for the US Open yet? One of them looks like a grey catsuit!

I'm thiknking Scoobie Snacks, myself, but Mr Announcer might not necessarily have been of the Mystery Machine Generation...?

Hope your hed recovers (the outside, at least?)! How many days do you think you'll be able to get away with putting "Oooh, I feel dizzy!" before every request before everyone notices and stops scrambling to help? ;)

I think the scrambling to help's worn off already, although Mr Lux is being adorable as ever, helping me afix the dressings and he's going to help me wash my hair later.

Hope you're feeling chipper too. *tender hugs*

I had a cyst removed from the top of my mouth when I was in my early teens. I made them put me under, so I don't remember a thing.

Date: 2008-08-21 05:36 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com
Oh noes, mouth cyst! That sounds horrid and I'm glad you don't remember it, frankly.

Date: 2008-08-22 11:54 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lady-ganesh.livejournal.com
Fortunately, it wasn't painful at all-- they found it during an x-ray and decided it Must Go. I remember feeling like it was never going to heal back up (mouth sores, eww) but that's about it.

How are you feeling?
