[livejournal.com profile] eldanis, I got your parcel this morning. Thank you for the amazing and beautiful art. I have to share it because it knocked my socks off.

[livejournal.com profile] eldanis drew me Edwardian vampire!Hakkai, aka Nikola from the AU bloodsucking fic An air that kills. He's remarkably like the image I had in my head of him.

Title: Take the road again (sequel to Ne me quitte pas)
Fandom: Saiyuki
Pairing: Hakkai/Gojyo
Warnings: explicit m/m
Notes: This is a sequel to Ne me quitte pas, which can be found here, and I'd recommend reading that first before you read this, but only if you want to. I wrote this story for [livejournal.com profile] smillaarq, who won me over at [livejournal.com profile] livelongnmarry. I'm glad she did, because I very much enjoyed writing this. She mentioned how she wanted something to balance out the loneliness and sadness of their time apart in the original story and that idea drew me very much. I wanted to know more about schoolteacher Gojyo and his new and rather different life of domesticity with Hakkai. This is set a couple of months after the original story ended.

Summary: someone-- or something-- wants Gojyo's attention and he is losing sleep over it

I put up a [livejournal.com profile] saiyuki_time request for prompt ideas, here. Also, this week's challenge is a catch up week for anyone who didn't have time to do any of the previous challenges. So, if you've got half finished fics or ideas you never had time to write first time around, now's the time to post. I'm going to have a stab at it... It's been a bit quiet over there recently.

Fandom: Saiyuki
Pairing: Hakkai/Gojyo
Warnings: explict het and m/m, genderswap
Notes: thank you so much to [livejournal.com profile] emungere for betaing this and for [livejournal.com profile] new_kate for cheering me on. I can't remember when this fic started life, except someone said to me 'girl Hakkai' at some point some time ago and things developed from there. It seems to have taken many months to write and then more time for us to sit and look at each other. I very much hope you enjoy it. Any feedback and comments are warmly welcomed.

Summary: Hakkai is hit with a spell and turns into a woman. Things soon get complicated.

Short fic for [livejournal.com profile] 2metaldog, who asked for Jien/Banri 'testing boundaries'. This is set post journey, so it's really Doku rather than Jien:

Things that make me happy:

[livejournal.com profile] saiyuki_manga has some images from beautiful Salty Dog 5.

The latest chapter of Saiyuki over at [livejournal.com profile] radiofreebanri, where spoiler )

Oh, just fyi, there is a new challenge over at [livejournal.com profile] saiyuki_time - this week, it's about clothes.

[livejournal.com profile] daegaer insisting that I write a robot au. Robot tennis au. Rafa Nadal is discovered to be a tennis bot in the middle of the Wimbledon final. I know, stop looking at me like that! She thinks I'm already writing it. I suspect she is already writing her OWN robot au.

Things to make me sad:

R Fed lost his match today at the Cincinnati Masters, where he should be winning. Or, if not winning, at least in serious contention. I wasn't able to keep track of the scores, from nerves. God. You know, I am suddenly learning how people get totally over-invested in sport.

You know how you have unwritten epics of great and terrible crack humming about in your head? Yes, those. In an attempt to exorcise myself of them I decided I'm going to write snippets of each one, so this is part one in a series of probably about a squillion.

Also, if you think there are any cracktastic epics you think I should be writing, drop me a comment and I'll try and come up with a snippet for you.

This particular one has been lurking about my head for some months, since [livejournal.com profile] emungere forced me to discuss in some detail the concept of Hakkai sailing about on his haunted white ship of creepiness and Gojyo as a stray ne'er do well he fishes from the sea and lashes to his mast. That is not a euphemism! Sadly, I had to finish it before I got sucked in any deeper. You never know, maybe [livejournal.com profile] emungere will even finish it for me.

I has a Twine

I don't really know what Twine will be useful for yet, but I'm trying it out at the Beta stage. I quite like the small potted entries, and the ability to have groups of people sharing and contributing to each Twine. But. Do I really need another link collecting thing?

I do have some Twine invites, if anyone would like one?

[livejournal.com profile] puddingcat came to Reading yesterday to get fitted for her coat of many buttons, so in the afternoon I met up with her and her dressmaker friend Claire and landlady Laura. We hit up the John Lewis haberdashery and Fabricland and a couple of shoe shops and now I feel so enthused about dresses and fabric and shoes. I can't wait to see [livejournal.com profile] puddingcat's coat - she showed me the pattern and it's a sort of pirate frock coat with panels and huge cuffs.

I'm thinking of commissioning a dress from Claire too. I just have to decide on what I want: either something 60s style in a simple A-line/shift dress style, or a full skirted 50s style dress.

Also, when we were randomly chatting about stuff, [livejournal.com profile] puddingcat made a really interesting point about Nii - cut for vague spoilers )

Title: An Air that Kills
Fandom: Saiyuki
Pairing: Hakkai/Gojyo
Warnings: AU, Edwardian vampires! Sucking
Notes: this was written for [livejournal.com profile] cmda_alexanda, because she won me on the Sweet Charity. It was written partly to her fulfill her request and partly because once I started I couldn't stop. A sequel is all planned out already. Well, most of it. Some of it. Thank you very much to [livejournal.com profile] daegaer and to [livejournal.com profile] emungere for patient and thoughtful betaing.

Title: Heart of Darkness
Fandom: Saiyuki
Pairing: Ni/Gojyo (implied Gojyo/Hakkai)
Warnings: not worksafe, some m/m, Ni, some weirdness
Notes: thanks to [livejournal.com profile] emungere, my dearly loved enabler, and to [livejournal.com profile] new_kate for beta and encouragement. I always think of this story as 'the end of Ni'. I don't know what prompted me to write it, just that I've been thinking about him recently. Any concrit and feedback would be much appreciated.

Summary: Houtou castle is under attack. Ni has a prisoner in his lab.

Recs?

I'm just idly wondering if anyone's got any fic recs for Nii-- in any of his various guises, pairings, whatev.

ps, I have already read the altogether too likely Nii/Bunny by [livejournal.com profile] emungere

O Ukoku

Nii is bisexual! I think we really all might've had the teensiest inkling about this anyway, but [livejournal.com profile] athena8 very kindly translated the bit in Saiyuubito where he says so, in typically charming manner. Minekura also says some really adorable things about Gojyo and also really astonishing things about how she plots, like at the last minute! I don't know why I'm so shocked by that, but I kind of am.

Anyway, besides being astonished, being able read what she thinks about her characters just makes me very very happy.
louiselux: (Default)
Thanks for all the answers to the special powers poll. My favourites:

Sanzo:
If he had telekinesis, he'd never let anyone get within 50 metres of him.
Pissed off!Medium.
Slight precognition and slight telepathy, the rest is all attitude

Hakkai:
Psychometry, healing and life-force vampirism
Only acts like he's reading your mind.
Absolute direction sense like an internal GPS - this made me think of Mildmay!

Goku
Spidey-sense
Telekenesis or just plain superstrength. Maybe he's the Incredible Hulk?

Gojyo
The ability to give someone an orgasm just by thinking about it.
Charm / presence / awe-inducing magnetism. Or pyrokinesis.
Empathic / psychometry - quite a few people suggested empath for Gojyo.

*mulls it over*

Also, random thought of the day (last night): I was wondering if Koumyou kept Ukoku and Kouryuu apart on purpose. Kouryuu only has one memory od Ukoku, but it's clear Ukoku visited Koumyou sometimes - or even regularly? I really want to read more stories about Nii.
