Yesterday was good. I dyed my hair (it's sort of light auburn now, from dark blonde). Two new bras were bought in the M&S sale, for £5 and £7 each. I met with friend G in the evening and we had a good two hours talking about how to develop his novel. I drank two bottles of cider, mmm.

This morning I checked the enormous amount of frog spawn in the pond, spied on the frogs, wrote about 700 words of various things and perused the HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of prompts on [livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest, some of which are just so tempting.

Now, right this minute, I'm going to get back on my exercise bike and begin cycling to Rivendell again, or possibly that should be from Chang'An to Houtou Castle?

[livejournal.com profile] vom_marlowe is being awesome and is running the Anonymous Saiyuki Kink Meme in her lj, right now!

The instructions are simple: leave anonymous requests for kinky stuff that you might ordinarily feel embarrassed about asking for, and then someone writes an anonymous kinky ficlet (they might ordinarily feel embarrassed posting) for that request.

There are quite a lot of requests already since yesterday, and there is already very hot Girl!Gojyo smut. Go and write kinky fic, peoples!

I'm trying to write my [livejournal.com profile] spring_kink challenges and failing abysmally. I can't understand it, because they're quite lickable. But the brain, it is not co-operating. Maybe a meme will be inspirational, I can hope. Via [livejournal.com profile] lexin

Claims are open at the [livejournal.com profile] springkink, here and here. It's hard to resist, and they can be as little as 500 words, right? Like tiny little treats. I might have put my name down for a few...

I always say I'll stop signing up for challenges, but some are just too tempting, like [livejournal.com profile] springkink. Today is the last day for prompts to be posted - see this post here for all the Kink Fest info. You need to leave your prompts on this post here by the end of today.

In other news, for my birthday we are going to Dublin to visit [livejournal.com profile] daegaer's newly decorated bathroom! I can't wait. I spent an afternoon in Dublin about 10 years ago and have very dim memories of the Liffey and more vivid memories of driving round in panicky circles trying to get to Dun Laoghaire. But! Yay, Dublin! Excitement!

In more other news, I have done frig all work today, but there are cocktails and Italian food planned later. Reading has a bit of a hidden gem - a restaurant called Pepe Sale, that does the most delicious pasta and in huge portions. It's tucked away on a brutalist bit of 60s town landscaping that also acts as a handy wind tunnel, which I think is why it's not more well known.

[livejournal.com profile] emungere keeps telling me I should do this because I am such a huge pervert it would be interesting, and so I am caving... the secret fic perversions challenge!

Basically it's an idea nabbed from [livejournal.com profile] blue_soaring, who says "Got something so twisted, so wrong, that you're embarrassed to ask for it or write yourself? Maybe makes you squirm and you're not sure if that's good or bad? If you've got the balls to ask for it, I'll write it." I have no idea how secretly perverted you all are (at a guess: a lot), but whatever you ask for I'll have a go at writing it, probably something between 200-1000 words.

Fandoms: Saiyuki, Antique Bakery, Samurai Champloo, Good Omens, Wild Adapter, Hikaru no Go

Okay, feeling perverted? Go!

Huh. I had managed to entirely miss the fact that I had to do actually request something for the latest [livejournal.com profile] yaoi_challenge rather than just sign up. Because I am a fule.

My virtual frog died. Now I have a giraffe.

It's my birthday on Wednesday, and I've left it a bit late to announce one of them birthday challenge things. But I thought I'd do something based on [livejournal.com profile] pearl_o's 5 kisses idea: write Louise a kiss for her birthday. If you want to.

Yay!

It doesn't even need to be a nice kiss. It could be angry, or angsty. Or dirty, or whatever. Just, you know, all kisses are good. And gratefully received. :D eta: preferred fandoms are Saiyuki, House, Wild Adapter, Samurai Champloo and Antique Bakery (for the two people on flist who are reading it) and pairings, well, I'll leave that up to you. Demented crossovers are encouraged. It can be as short or long as you like.

and some memes -

IP logging is off, anonymous posting is on. So hit me. Something you always wanted to say to me or ask me but were too afraid/polite to do so? Now is the time to do it.

Fic things

I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] remixredux. I wasn't gonna, but then-- oops, my fingers slipped and it just happened.

I am having a rush of excitement because I have just been able to tick two whole things off my fic to do list.

It says here that the next thing on my list is to write up the Hakkai/Gojyo crossdressing kink fic o' doom. *weeps tears of pure joy* Although, perhaps I'll carry on with the batsmut. I think I know how it ends and furthermore Gojyo in a catsuit is hard to shift from one's brain. Yeah.

I'm working at home for the next three weeks. A) I will save money. B) I will get proper sleep. C) I will have spare time. Result!

I'm feeling all spontaneous again - it must be time for a fic meme:

If you give me a pairing/idea/some kind of inspiration I'll try and write a short, quick ficlet. I'll have a stab at most fandoms listed on my info page
louiselux: (Default)
Hey, you! Draw me a picture! Write me a bit of fic! Produce something creative!

If you want. I'm really crap at this demanding thing, aren't I?

fic meme

This Easter egg meme appeals to me, mostly because my beloved failed to present me with one today *sobs*.

Never mind-- here's the short version of the meme: comment if you'd like a short ficlet for Easter, any fandom (that I list in my interests), cracktastic crossovers fine, etc. Give me a pairing/character and theme or word. And anyone who remembers that I did this last year and never finished them ohgod sorry, sorry. I promise to do better this time. /sheepish.

*shriek of despair*

Spent all day trying to make one of our websites work. Have smashed it up good.

The bright side is that it's only a test site, but can I kill the person who designed this so called 'easy to use content management system' ? Please?

****

In other news, February has bought me many blessings! (am channeling Tohru for this part)  So far this week I've had a card with sweet mini ficlets from [livejournal.com profile] daegaer, Wild Adapter 2 and 3 from the gorgeous, seductive Sasuga Japanese Bookstore and a cup!  The cup comes, I think, from [livejournal.com profile] jamjar and it's a special Reload cup. So cool-- thank you:D

My [livejournal.com profile] remixredux fic is shaping up to be very interesting, for me at least - I've thought more about form and structure for this than for anything else I've written. My usual approach to structure is to not. Or to rather let the story fall out of my head as it wll and then either impose something on it, or to leave it as is.

Am leaving work now. In two hours I'll be in the swimming pool, so if anyone wants me you can reach me there.

Happy Random Wombat Day

On the stationary train today, the train announcer said: 'We are currently... waiting ... for something.' Uh huh. Oh how we laughed!

[livejournal.com profile] notassuch has cleverly conned me into thinking the drabble game is a meme, but it then again it might just be a burst of Friday enthusiasm insanity enthusiasm.

But it seems like a good idea (I am the groupie sheep of [livejournal.com profile] afrai, [livejournal.com profile] daegaer and [livejournal.com profile] notassuch).

Leave me an idea for a drabble or snippet and I'll write it. I'll write anything in GO or Harry Potter, and other fandoms if I know them a bit.

Um, this is the low tech version, so leave me a comment.

I signed up for the [livejournal.com profile] remixredux challenge. It has a nice long due date- 10 weeks from now, or something, and it's not to late to sign up, all you Good Omens folk. That'll be me, mistress of the hint.

In a fit of something or other I also signed up for the It's All Been Done Before Fest, with a pairing I've always secretly wanted to write, Harry/Draco, and an overdone scenario which appealed to me: they meet again after a long time. Throw in a soupcon of redeemed!Draco et voila. Harry and Draco doing anything with each other at Hogwarts is just not even vaguely plausible for me because Harry is so completely beyond Draco's reach. Out of his league is the term that springs to mind. Not in terms of looks but in terms of life experience and confidence. Draco has the family and the priviledged home life Harry is streets ahead of him in knowing how to behave like a decent human being, even if he is a raging ball of testosterone at the moment. I suppose proof of that is that Harry has real friends, whereas Draco has prototype henchmen, Slytherin that he is. And he's a raging bigot and a selfish, spoiled brat. But those traits are things he could quite possibly unlearn once he's removed from the lifestyle he obviously leads at home, ie, domineering father and the DE-in-training upbringing.

I haven't read that many Harry/Draco stories but there are numbers beyond count of they-meet-after-Hogwarts stories. Possible cliched career paths for D.Malfoy on leaving school: foreign exchange student, prostitute, nightclub dancer, barman, gangster, gangster's floozie, shiftless good-for-nothing, drug addict, wearer of leather trousers.
