I'm so behind on answering comments - I'm not ignoring you I promise, just feeling swamped by life. I'm still not feeling properly well and I managed to also acquire a head cold over the weekend. I'm at work, feeling like I need another week of sleep and a new immune system.

In conclusion, BLARGH.

Oh bugger

Women, whatever you do, Don't Marry Michael Noer

In other news

The doctor said I had tendonitis. Which sucks. I am trying to rest my arms, but that means actually not doing anything at all that involves hands. Oh god. So far today I have watched five episodes of Firefly and been out to buy a wrist splint and ibuprofen gel. The wrist splints make my arms feel bionic and impervious, but I am wary of letting it go to my head. The light on the edge of my dark cloud is BSG season 2, which arrived today.

... I think I'll try a very small amount of writing and see how it feels.

A nice man from Berkshire Drain Sevices is filling the house with a vile stench. It's hard to describe, but it's kind of like I imagine fermented cowpats would smell. Sorry. But you all have to suffer too.

Also, I lost/someone stole my digital camera last night, between me being on the train coming home, the restaurant and our house. Woe. It was a good one too. I'm going to ask at all the places I went, just in case someone handed it in.

Lack of camera means I can't show off my new haircut. It's flicky and, okay, just a little overly-coiffed right now. Which leads me to a random quote from A BIt of Fry and Laurie, specially for [livejournal.com profile] daegaer:

"Margery. I like what you've done with your hair. It looks better there."

I got home at 9pm in the end, cos the train broke!

Cameron looks and acts almost like a normal human being in the new series of House. Wow. Cuddy had some weird puffed-sleeved blouse on and I very much hope Wilson and Cameron aren't being set up to have a romance, because then I would have to beat the TV to death with my own head.

The manga haul:
1. 888 (or Three Eight, but sadly nothing to do with Sanzo and Hakkai) part one, by Kuwata Noriko. It has two detectives who live together, their assistant and a (groomed) Pomeranian. It's very funny and the little dog is death by cute. I've no idea when the next one is out but I'm hoping it's not one of those once-every-three-months deals because I want more of the cute dog, now!

2. One thousand and one nights by Seung-Hee Han -- A manwha retelling of 1001 Nights where Shahrazad is a man impersonating a woman to save his sister's life because the sultan is beheading the women of the city. Oh, and his sister is in love with him and wants to marry him. Yes. We've been somewhere like this before, haven't we? It's entertaining, but kind of exhausting to read for some reason. I'm not wildly eager to find out more about these characters, even if everyone is ridiculously pretty.

3. Bleach, vol 3. Well, it was on special offer and they didn't have vol 1.

Bugger - got up. Toilet cistern is leaking all over the floor!

I just can't deal with it before having a cup of tea and so here I am checking lj while an old towel soaks up the water. At least it is only water from the cistern and not the actual toilet pipe, because that would just be the grimmest thing ever.  Hopefully it's just the ballcock being gunged up with limescale.  Bum - what a thing to have to deal with first thing in the morning.

Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] iibnf! Your party sounded wonderful.

We had a bonfire party last night. Thank god A turned up with a palette he found in a skip on the way here, otherwise I would've had to start throwing the furniture on from sheer embarrassment. Note: don't invite people over for a bonfire party if you've got no wood. Silly Louise.

This is not my week for thinking sensibly about anything. Whining. )

What a stress-filled day. Lots of tension flying about, and I'm sure I picked up on it and became irritable. Running tonight, I think. Gemma rang and I got my old pangs of my-career-is-going-nowhere. I felt guilty because I hadn't applied for, or even looked for, any jobs recently. There's one in Design Week apparently, that would fit me to a t. Better do it then, and stop hanging about whining.
