So, why did night fall so quickly in that final scene?

Why did Wolverine kill Jean? Wasn't the area covered in those little darts with the anti-mutant stuff in them?

Why didn't someone take the mutant boy to Jean to stop her going crazy?

Why didn't Wolverine's trousers shred and fall off along with the rest of his clothes? Why???

Charles and Eric were doing it a lot back then, twenty years ago. Oops, that's not a question.

My fam and I asked the -exact- same questions regarding Jean and her deal-y. Why not the darts, boy, etc? And Rogue. It was like Rogue was just kinda being carted around through the movie. Did she have a point? And, okay, in the credits it listed Jubilee, Psylocke, etc etc, where the hell were they? I didn't see them.

The one thing that redeemed the entire movie for me? "Don't you know who I am? I'm the Juggernaut bitch!" My family and I were pissing ourselves because we had all seen the terrible dub done by the group of guys who did that. Thank you google video, you have shown me the "I'm the Juggernaut bitch" video.

Hee! Oh dear, sadly I have to say that the Juggernaut moment was my absolute least favourite. But then, I loathe Vinne Jones with a fiery passion.

The Rogue thing could have been better done, I think, although I could see why she would want that. Her powers were not wildly useful, and she'd have a better life without them. But mostly I had no idea what she saw in Bobby.

I agree about Bobby. He just pisses me off in the movie. Then again, that actor has always irritated me ^_^ I guess we both have our actor quirks. And I definitely see why she'd get the shot, but it was all just too disorganized for me. And it's pissing me off to absolutely no end that she still is without her other powers. Sure, she got them from Ms Marvel, but still, give the damn girl the rest of "her powers"!

Sadly, I think Psylocke was supposed to be the one with the badly-streaked purple-black hair that was with Callisto's group. I think she was supposed to be Crimson Dawn-era Psylocke with the teleporting power. She ended up being disintegrated with Porcupine Boy by Phoenix after tossing Angel's dad off the roof.

I need a Psylocke icon. *pouts* Stupid movie.

Because he is brawn and not brains. Brawn can kill; it takes brains to pick up a dart thing and stab someone with it, as Hank showed us.

Either (a) in case she disintegrated him before he got within range or (b) because they're dumb.

Also, did Magneto fling the car with the trapped family in it at the soldiers so that Pyro could make it explode? I think it would give a much deeper insight into his character if you knew for sure.

Did you stay for the bit after the credits? I didn't, but I hear it's very good.

Anbd he spoke in Charles's voice too, which could just have been laziness on the film makers part and not trusting the audience to twig, but it could also mean that somehow that is also Charles Xavier in the bed. Maybe he was twins? Cloned? Anything!

How come all the headlights on the cars on the bridge were on at the end, even though supposedly all the lowly humans had made a run for it earlier that day -- err, a few moments before -- when their lives were sort of in danger (oh except for that family that was trapped).

Also, am supporting you as to question 4. WHY????

Although the answers to these questions, and more, might have something to do with the sixteen different scriptwriters employed on the film ehem.

1. To move the plot along more quickly, I think. XD

2. Because he's stupid? Er. In all fairness, the guns kinda got blown up, so who knew where the darts were. They just happened upon the ones they stabbed Magneto with. Would've been smarter to just stab him with one and keep the rest in reserve, though. It only seems to take one dart, after all. Ah, whatever. They may not have had time to find a dart, though. Jean was pretty much gonna blow the place up Right Now, it seemed. But it could just be a plothole.

3. Again, plothole. That just would've made too much sense! It could've been a timing thing, though, like the darts. And we don't know how their powers would've meshed anyway. Jean was supposed to be the most powerful mutant in the world, wasn't she? Maybe she would've just squished him like everyone else.

4. To keep the movie family-friendly, one supposes. Curses! It was kinda cool when we got to see all his skin come off for a minute, showing his adamantium-covered ribcage. Kinda gross, but cool!

5. Yes. They really were. And I'm kinda thinking they were doing it a lot right up until the end, too. Magneto's 'one regret' is that Charles died? HM.

Yes! Any sensible person would decide to, say, use two for Magneto and two for the love of their life who was clearly going bananas. Not just turn her into a human kebab the first chance they get. I don't understannnd!

1. Perhaps the explosions/Jean's telekinesis stirred up enough debris to block any remaining sunlight? If not, then I call dramatic license.

2. Yeah, but Jean would destroy them before one could reach her. If you go by the comics, Jean's powers were uncontrollable.

3. Good point? Maybe Jean as a class 5 mutant would overpower him. Either that, or she could have sent a chunk on concrete flying onto him before he got within striking range.

I think that because there were so many potential ways to cure the mutancy, not using any of them on Jean but killing her instead just feels like lazy scriptwriting. Or rather, the reasons *why* they could not be used were not gone into enough. Or at all, in fact.

Because once you rip the Golden Gate Bridge from its foundations, the sun stops shining. Or it could be that the makers have watched too much of the Terminator movies and decided that the big 'war-type' scenes should be done at night.

Because Hugh Jackman already knew how to howl to the moon while holding the dead corpse of his beloved woman (aka. reenactment of the last scene of Van Helsing). Oh, and the darts probably disintegrated while Jean was having her fit. Really makes me wonder why she spared Wolverine. Ah, yes, how could I forget? Because, even in her Phoenix form, she still luvs him. Yup, that's it -.-

Because, in all probability, he'd be blown to smithereens. Plus, the boy would be a temporary resolution, since Jean has already lost her marbles. I do agree that using one of the darts with the medicine could be useful - to some extent, at least.

Because life is unfair and we're denied the simple pleasures of staring at Hugh Jackman's gorgeous ass ;_; Plus, what if Jean saw the front and actually changed back to her old self? The plot would die and the movie wouldn't have such a ::coughcough:: great dramatic impact. Yes, I'm doing a lousy job at justification :P

Now, I understand that Ian McKellen is gay and all, but... why did they have to make Patrick Stewart *look* gay? The amount of make up they put on him was ridiculous. He looked like he got dipped into a self-tanning lotion. Professor X was supposed to be *pale*, damnit! Ick. Make-up department should be fired -.-

Also, I was very disappointed with Jean's Phoenix form. She looked downright creepy. I liked what they've done with her in X2 much better, but oh well, who am I to complain, right?

Oh, it's just... Patrick Stewart plays the most flaming gay man ever in that movie. He completely steals it out from under the main characters.

I think the thing that bugs me about Jean's death is that the reasons for it were just not gone in to enough. Yes, she had gone crazy, but rather than just kill her, wouldn't Wolverine try other tactics first? Like use one of the hundreds of tiny dart thingies there were raining down everywhere just few minutes before? This is where the plot seriously fell apart, I think.

The thing about the kid plot was that it was just not developed enough, and he turned into someone who just needed saving, rather than being integral to anything else. Which was a shame.

1) Honestly I didn't notice, how bad is that ^^;!

2) I think that we were supposed to assume that Jean was destroying all the 'cure' drug darts along with everything else and that it was taking all Logan's strength just to get to Jean to stop her so he wouldn't be able to see if there were any left.

3) Also I think that Jean would have sensed the threat of the mutant boy (she is telepathic after all) before he could get close enough to her to suppress her powers so she would have killed him.

1) I presumed Storm was fucking with the weather still.

2) As others have suggested, because she'd destroyed them - and anyway, her powers were so huge, they'd have needed loads and she could easily have turned them away (bearing in mind it took 4 to bring down Magneto and he still has a little residual power.

3) Because there was significant risk to the boy - she could work out what they were planning and kill him before he got in range and they were trying to protect him.

I really liked Angel. Very nice wings. But I'd have liked a bit more of him - he was a bit underdeveloped, character and plot wise, I thought. And Rogue - argh!!!

Angel was sweet, and Rogue - that really wasn't done so well, I thought. Mostly because I think Bobby is a twerp!

As for the rest of it, yeah, I see in theory what it was the audience were supposed to be thinking at all those points, but all the same it just didn't hang together for me, because none of it seemed to be thought through enough. It was mostly that, with two very obvious cures for Jean, they didn't try to use any of them. But then I suppose the boy would've been smooshed, thus negating the whole point of the operation.
