So, why did night fall so quickly in that final scene?

Why did Wolverine kill Jean? Wasn't the area covered in those little darts with the anti-mutant stuff in them?

Why didn't someone take the mutant boy to Jean to stop her going crazy?

Why didn't Wolverine's trousers shred and fall off along with the rest of his clothes? Why???

Charles and Eric were doing it a lot back then, twenty years ago. Oops, that's not a question.

At least Wolverine could've had a go with another method, before the skewering to death approach, for god's sake! It was just so... drastic.
