[Poll #1034231]
I'm not leaving, although I'd kind of like to. I don't know what to do-- I'm feeling very depressed about lj, specially because Abe Hassan (aka burr86 and livejournal employee) thinks now is a good time to publicly mock the fans.
The entry with his comment was eventually deleted by the community mod, but there's a screenshot here, and an article about it here. I was really pissed off about it yesterday, but this morning my expression matches the one in my icon. I am feeling rather blank about the whole thing.

Date: 2007-08-06 03:51 pm (UTC)I haven't joined live journal yet.I didn't know about it until quite recently. About that time there was already some crisis happening in lj, so I wanted to wait it out and see how it was all going to wash. The same kind of thing happened at Yahoo Groups: groups vanishing due to questions over content (same questions as here in lj), others panicking and packing up- and many others got spooked by it all, so they just sort of dropped away.
I have joined so many things that just sort of fizzle, and I end up with accounts all over the place and my information splattered all over the internet. I'd rather not join yet another group if there's going to be a mass exodus from it two months later. It's ridiculous. So, I'm still staying put as an anonymous for now.
However, I have to say this is nothing new. Like I said, it's gotten so common I balk at joining anywhere anymore. You can run, but you can't hide from the idiots.
If you do leave lj, please let us all know, both the lj user and the anonymous reader. I'd follow you anywhere. I love your site. I check it nearly every day. Thanks!

Date: 2007-08-07 10:36 am (UTC)I can understand why you'd not want to join lj - but it can be useful to have a journal, just for commenting and things, as people (not me particularly) are wary of anonymous commenters.
I will certainly let you know if I move - there will be announcements!! I desperately don't want to lose my community here though, so I will only move if it looks like it is necessary.
Btw, it's really lovely to find that you like my stuff. :D
