In other news, I ditched the original fic I was writing and began again from scratch, and this time it feels much more like something I actually want to write, and there are boats and mysterious ferrymen and sex. Now I have 17 days.

I finished Anasi Boys. I was vaguely let down by the end two chapters and I'm not sure why - in parts they seemed a bit slow. But in the main I loved the light tone that ran through it. It looks easy to do, but I think is very hard to get right. My new bid to read more is going well. I've begun Misfortune, by Wesley Stace, the touching and demented tale of a boy brought up as a girl in the 18thC. The prose is very dense and vivid and I can see this is going to take me a while to get through.

Ooh, good luck! Boatmen and sex, sounds wet and slippery... I'd love to read it when you have finished. Hmm, could have phrased that better, now I sound like a complete hentai ^^; lol!
