Saiyuki story by new_kate: Errand - another take on how Gonou got his limiters. I want to describe it as gut wrenching but that's a bit of an unfortunate term to use about Gonou. Oh, whatever. It's very good indeed. :)

Also, reviving a meme I missed the first time round: If you make up titles for stories I didn't write, I will respond with details of those non-written stories.

"Confirmation of the Mundane"

A short, not entirely happy story that even so manages to offer an uplifting message by the end. It's about Hakkai and self imposed punishments that are not really punishments - he scrubs the floor with a nailbrish and it takes him a day, he washes both his and Gojyo's clothes by hand until his fingers are wrinkly, he takes the long way round and does everything as best as he can, just because he is alive and is able to. Gojyo watches and it takes him a while to understand, and he doesn't offer to help at fort because he doesn't want to and then because he does but guesses that Hakkai needs to do it by himself.

Oh my, this sounds entirely too plausible, and makes me sad for Hakkai all over again.

I suspect that Gojyo eventually gets diverted from compassion right back into pervitude, what with all the hand-washing of his pants.
Gojyo: Mmm, warm, slippery fingers... yeah, rub it, rub it reeeal good...
Hakkai: ...I beg your pardon?
Gojyo: OMG! Begging, even!?! *staggers away, nose bleeding madly*
