Please, please don't let Michael Howard be Prime Minister tomorrow. Please. *crosses fingers*

I did a 400+  mile round trip on public transport today and no one mentioned the election. I even dragged it into the conversation twice, once with a taxi driver even, but no one wanted to say anything and I was left with the odd feeling that no one cared and that it was just passing the country by. This isn't true for everyone, obviously, but the feeling I got from today was just one of apathy; on campus, on the trains, in shops. It was very odd.

Do you think Brown would be a better PM? Assuming he has Labour's support, of course.

Honestly? I really don't know. He supported Blair though Iraq, the gap between rich and poor is growing in this country... I wouldn't entirely trust him not to support some mad Bushist scheme to invade Iran. But then he's more old-school left-wing labour than Blair. Even though he's faithfully stuck by Blair's side over Iraq, one has to wonder how much of his authority he's going to start throw around now Labour has got a much smaller majority. It's going to be harder for Blair to push through policies like ID cards, etc.

I really want Charles Kennedy to be PM.
