So, Firefly. I've been urged by various people this weekend to buy it and I think I will. A trip to the big shiny HMV in the Bullring after work might be required.

I was quite overcome with Starsky and Hutch love last night, watching the Channel 4 documentary about them. The actors are so funny together - they seem like genuine good friends.

The programme also showed that scene where Hutch breaks down in tears and Starsky takes him in a passionate embrace, and the angle it's filmed from makes them look like they're snogging wildly. They talked about the homoerotic thing. Some chap -a producer I think- said that back then no one saw anything like that in S&H, apart from the small army of women writing slash about them. David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser seemed rather bemused by their recent return to popularity, and there was a hilariously awkward meeting with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, who were nervous and babbling. In all, the programme got me quite interested in reading some fic.

Today is my 2 year lj anniversary and this is my 559th post. I'm reading Starsky and Hutch slash to celebrate - it's a funny story, and well-written too. Starsky is in hospital recovering from being temporarily dead, a teenage helper is reading him Wuthering Heights during which he keep glazing over and drifting off, and Hutch keeps appearing, like Cathy. Except he's really there, not a ghost. Moments of mutual awkwardness ensue as Starsky begins to Realise Something About Their Relationship.

eta: Oh, and then it goes slightly stream of conciousness as Hutch takes over the reading of the book, and they *both* begin to Realise Something About Their Relationship. Not quite so much fun, that bit.
