So, Firefly. I've been urged by various people this weekend to buy it and I think I will. A trip to the big shiny HMV in the Bullring after work might be required.

I was quite overcome with Starsky and Hutch love last night, watching the Channel 4 documentary about them. The actors are so funny together - they seem like genuine good friends.

The programme also showed that scene where Hutch breaks down in tears and Starsky takes him in a passionate embrace, and the angle it's filmed from makes them look like they're snogging wildly. They talked about the homoerotic thing. Some chap -a producer I think- said that back then no one saw anything like that in S&H, apart from the small army of women writing slash about them. David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser seemed rather bemused by their recent return to popularity, and there was a hilariously awkward meeting with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, who were nervous and babbling. In all, the programme got me quite interested in reading some fic.

Ooh, Firefly! Do it, do it, do it! It's fab.

I desperately want to see S&H, and all my friends are mocking me :-) Philistines. I'll just have to go on my own!

Will definitely get Firefly, I think, if I can find it.

Go see S & H, you must! Even if you just have to shriek quietly to yourself at the campness. Apparently the original S&H make a cameo appearance, handing over the oh-so-convincing undercover cop car to the new boys.

Although I heartily endorse the 'buy Firefly' advice, I'm not sure that you'll find it in HMV because it's not released in the UK until 19 April. You *might* be able to buy a Region 1 (North American) version if you've got a compatible DVD player. Amazon.co.uk are selling the Region 1 version at present but I would check with HMV first whether they've got it in stock before making a special trip.

As for me, I bought it from amazon.ca and love it. I had all the eps on tape but the DVD quality is well worth having.

Saw the S&H documentary as well, it's really whetted my appetite for the film. There's lots of fanfic, but quite a lot of it isn't online, I believe.

Hmm, thanks for the advice - I might wait now until its released in April, even though my HMV vouchers are burning a hole in my pocket.

Pffft. He's in denial. As far as I understand they were openly described as 'the two primetime homos' at the time the show was still airing.
