I'm home again, after my trip into the interior (of my parents house) and home to an electronic and real-life mailbox full of good things! I got a card and lovely fic off snowballjane, one from brandnewgun and a card, marvellous fic, mysterious parcel, postcards and beautiful bookmark from daegaer! Thank you so much! There was also a card from a long-lost college friend, which made me very happy too.

Now I have to wash and make myself look a bit more human because people are coming round for something I called 'festive drinks'. Okay, I'll have some fairy lights up and there's a vague chance I might mull some wine but that's about all I can manage right now.

I am now reading 'Mauritius Command'. Hms Surprise was wonderful, and I cannot rate the scenes with the sloth too highly.

I'm delighted the parcel arrived! Things are getting to the UK faster than they're crossing Dublin . . .

Spoiled and stuffed don't begin to cover it- a minute didn't go by without the offer of some form of fat and sugar-rich food. I finally caved when mum got out a £30 box of chocolates that dad had bought her. Not even my steely determination could withstand that sort of temptation.
