Well, I finally found an x,y and z, but only by ditching the smutty version of this and starting all over again. It was too much like trying to do a crossword puzzle backwards, or sideways, or some other strange way.

The 3rd wave of the Snape FQF is go. Let me just pause to say, yay!

Title: A is for Angel.
Author: Louise Lux
Fandom: Good Omens
Pairing: Crowley/Aziraphale
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Notes: Only 26 sentences long.

'--and I just thought it'd be nice if you kissed me.'

Blinking for the first time in many, many months, Crowley deeply regretted tuning out the previous 10 minutes of Aziraphale's conversation. Caught off-guard, he had absolutely no idea what to say, or what Aziraphale expected, or even what he'd agreed to without realising. Dumbly, he stared at Aziraphale who was watching him over his tea-cup with that supremely annoying smile on his face. Each second seemed to stretch out excruciatingly while Crowley ran through his options: admit ignorance, play along with the insane angel, or perhaps some other, more fitting, response.

'Fuck off!'

Gleefully, Aziraphale sniggered and almost choked on a biscuit in his merriment. He was still giggling when it occurred to Crowley that if that was the way Aziraphale wanted it, then two could play at this game.

'I've never said before, but--I've always wanted to do that,' Crowley said, deciding to go for broke with his very best sincere voice, lacing it with what he considered a nicely judged mix of shock, embarrassement and desire. Just let him fall for it, he thought, discreetly crossing his fingers and attempting his most appealing look, albeit a rather rusty one. Kindly, with the sort of expression Aziraphale usually reserved for the insane or the very old, the angel patted him on the hand and moved a bit closer.

'Lovely,' Aziraphale said quietly, reaching up to brush a strand of Crowley's hair back from his forehead.

Mystified, Crowley was just about to ask him what he thought he was doing, and hadn't the joke gone far enough, when Aziraphale leant in and kissed him on the lips

'Nnng,' Crowley managed, his surprise so great that Aziraphale got a good few seconds of kissing in before Crowley pushed him away and leapt up from his seat.

'Obviously I didn't expect you to kiss me, I though you were joking,' he cried, before realising with a blush of utter shame that he'd completely blown his cool and in doing so had, without a doubt, laid himself open to Aziraphale's amusement for years to come.

'Poor thing,' Aziraphale said, favouring Crowley with an even more annoying smile. 'Quiet now,' he murmured, laying a soft finger over Crowley's lips, before leaning forward and kissing him once more.

Right, thought Crowley, the smug bastard's not getting one over on me again. Solemnly, Crowley let his lips fall open just the right amount and let his arms curl round Aziraphale's waist, intensely gratified to hear the angel give a small moan of pleasure at his touch.

The room had darkened and night had fallen by the time it occurred to Crowley to stop kissing Aziraphale. Under his hands the angel was trembling and dishevelled, his shirt untucked and his tie askew. Very carefully Aziraphale took Crowley's sunglasses off and looked into his eyes.

'What are you thinking?'

'X-rated thoughts,' Crowley said, smirking at Aziraphale's answering wide-eyed expression. 'You did ask,' he whispered, slipping his hands back under layers of wool and cotton and feeling very much like he'd won this battle at least.

Zealously, he applied himself to winning the war.

Ooohh*thud*

That was lovely! I love their banter, and I LOVE The room had darkened and night had fallen by the time it occurred to Crowley to stop kissing Aziraphale, because it's just so perfect.

Er, not much in the way of constructive feedback here, sorry--my brain has just been blown away by sweet angel/demon loving... ;)

Hee! Thank you.

I LOVE The room had darkened and night had fallen by the time it occurred to Crowley to stop kissing Aziraphale, because it's just so perfect.

I always think that their sense of time must be different to ours, so they could devote more time to, er, things they enjoyed.

Er, not much in the way of constructive feedback here, sorry

I'll let you off this time. *g* Your comments were lovely!

Oooh, yes. That makes so much sense.

I loved it.

Ah! That's genius! That must have been hard to write, but what great results! (*cough*wouldhavelovedtoseethesmuttyversion*cough*) I really like the line about Aziraphale's layers of cotton and wool.

Thanks so much! It was very strange to write. A dictionary comes in handy, although it is a bit like cheating.

And if you really want to see the smutty version, maybe I'll post it and you can help me think of a sentence beginning with x, as I'm well and truly stuck!

How about mentioning Xanthippe, Socrates' wife? 'Cos I didn't go look up words beginning with X in case I wanted to write another one of these, oh no. *Looks innocent*

Blinking for the first time in many, many months

Heeeh! I like this image.

'Nnng,' Crowley managed

BWAH! Very nicely done. This reads really naturally, and is very funny, too. :)

Thank you!

Xanthippe. Didn't he marry her to practise his patience or something?

'Xanthippe was delightful compared to you.'
'You knew her?'
Z...arrgh!

'Cos I didn't go look up words beginning with X in case I wanted to write another one of these, oh no. *Looks innocent*

Riiight.

Cute. And clever.

A winning combination. But I would like to see this published somewhere without the clue that it's an alphabetic story. 'Cause it would be interesting to see how long it took people to catch on! Does that appeal? Easily, to me. Feel complimented. God knows I mean it. Happy writing! I want you to write more Crowley/Aziraphale.... Just because it's so good!

Thank you so much!

I like what you said about posting at as a normal story - I think I'll do that-it would be interesting. And I do feel complimented. Very. *g*

I've found my way to your journal via your site, and wanted to read the comments here to see what others thought of this story. And I'd like to tell you, for the record, that I did not realize it was an alphabetical story when I first read it on your site.

Also I'm curious as to whether or not that smutty version is about... ^^ There isn't nearly enough smut between these boys out there. Trust me, I've looked.

Whee! You found an 'X'! And it's a great story and all lovely and sweet!

Kindly, with the sort of expression Aziraphale usually reserved for the insane or the very old, the angel patted him on the hand and moved a bit closer.

Awww. Well, Crowley is over 6000 years old. Poor old thing!

Hey there! Thanks, I'm so glad you like it. Once I stopped trying to write sex, everything became so much easier.

Well, Crowley is over 6000 years old. Poor old thing!

Hee hee. Oh yes, he *is* isn't he? Aziraphale must use that expression on him all the time then.

Well, maybe when you're old enough. *g* Er, or when I think of something for x and z. If I do, I'll let you know. :-)

I suppose poor Crowley could qualify for both, depending on how you see it.
