Films this weekend: Chamber of Secrets. I never did see this on the big screen, partly through fannish apathy and partly because I guessed that I'd be disappointed. But it wasn't so bad, although the pacing left a lot to be desired. I liked the bits that I'd heard about; the duelling club, and Harry speaking parceltongue. Snape in his tightly buttoned garments. Yum. I was amused to hear a few young voices having dropped an octave or so.

Donnie Darko is a wonderful film. I haven't processed how it made me feel exactly, yet, but it was moving and creepy and thoughtful. And as a sideline it pleased me deeply to see Patrick Swayze playing an utter fraud.

I've signed up for the Booze FF, so I'd better get my act together. Perhaps I'll do an experiment and write the story while drunk myself to, er, add authenticity. Or whatever. M was very nice to me tonight, and came home with a bottle of amaratto and some freshly squeezed orange juice, and they go very well together indeed.
