His head ached all over, the pain extending right down his throat. Even his tonsils were sore. Perhaps he had a touch of tonsilitis? He lay back against his pillow and closed his eyes, listening as the thump of the headache against his temples was matched by the sound of water hammering through the pipes in the wall behind his head. A moment later, the water pump started up at the back of the house, and the pounding in his head was exacerbated even more. He opened his eyes, catching sight of a pair of black lace panties, thrown carelessly over the end of the bed. He wondered where they'd come from.
