I cycled 5 miles today to collect a box of gourmet chocolates. Is that a fair deal? I don't know.

Apparently the unusually cold weather here (and the unusual mild weather in Newfoundland) is to do with something called the Arctic Oscillation, which is a mysterious weather system that no one understands properly. In any case, it's chucking down snow here and I can't get warm properly and now I properly understand the point of thermal undergarments.

Ps - I have a tumblr, here: Swiss Navy. It's mostly pictures of Rafa and Roger but will be for anything one pretty, I think.

pjs under jeans. i'm telling you, lou, it's the way to go.

also, is there some rule that says rafa must play potato starace in the third round of every tournament? i'm sure it happens way, way more frequently than pure chance could possibly account for.

also also, i don't understand tumblr. please explain it to me in words of one syllable.

also also also, HI ILU.

He has to play Potato Starace and Roger has to play Andreas Seppi. It's in the ~rules.

Tumblr is like a really easy version of lj where you post pictures or text or music. It has a simple user interface designed to make it easy, and there are loads of tennis related ones with people posting all sorts of pics and vids and stuff. I'm not sure what it's for exactly, though. But it's quite fun.

HI ILU 2

I hope you put the chocolates in a little basket on the front of your bike and then scoffed them on the way home.

Amen to the thermal undergarments. My legs would be frozen solid without them! Also I did not cycle (or even walk) that far, but took advantage of the after-holiday sale in Fenwick. There is a tower of sugary goodness on my desk as a result. :)

Arctic Oscillation = at least it's not a sign of the End of Days? The snow up here is not so deep, and has frosted everything in the loveliest way.

I think that is part of the problem with the predictions of how our weather is going to be affected by the average rise in temperature. Plus weather seems to go in cycles, my parents tell me that winters like this were common when they were younger.

Interesting times! Hope that you didn't have to go anywhere today *warm hugs*!
