Roger's new Wimbledon kit this year is very shiny. Roger's bag handles co-ordinate with his belt, and under the coat there is a matching waiscoat. This is no ordinary tennis outfit.

It seemed to have upset some critics, not because they don't like the cut of Roger's trews, but because they think that Roger's dress sense is alienating proper manly men from watching tennis, for fear they might suddenly feel compelled to rush out and buy a gold and white manbag. Or something. Rock on, I say.

In conclusion, Rafa's cheekbones are better than everyone's.

Amen on the duds, Pete. I agree that Woods' stuff looks about right for both the millionaire sports super-star and the aspiring duffer who wants to look well-dressed. translation: tiger woods dresses in a way that is not intimidating for a straight, middle-class white guy.

I think Nike is limiting sales with Rogers' stuff by turning him out like a poncey poofter, not that I don't love me poofters, but this is tennis, not ice-skating.

what p bodo means: please transcend socio-economic stereotypes, but for the love of god never transcend gender stereotypes! how can i get all my manly male friends to watch tennis if the best player in the tournament looks like a fag? they might think i'm a fag too!

Yes, exactly that! The underlying theme of 'he looks like he might be gay, no proper sport loving man will like him' was so clear. I think he's scared that the US will lose all interest in tennis, and feels that Roger should make more effort to be appealing to the American audience. He also seems to blame Nike for not dressing Roger to appeal to the American market. I just hate this shit. What about the rest of the effing world?
