In other news, Roger Federer's girlfriend Mirka is pregnant. Their child is going to be sickeningly adorable and pretty, and they both seem thrilled to bits with it. There will be much cuteness. In selfish fan terms it's kind of deflating because BABIES. WOE! Real lives getting in the way of my WsIP! I have to rethink everything. I know fanfiction is by its very nature a way of fixing things so they're how we want them, but still. It makes my reaction to writing Roger/Rafa different in ways that, at the moment, I am not even nearly clear-thinking enough to explain.

I'm feeling guilty about my reactions.

In actual tennis news that's not the fantasy in my head, Roger is ending his six week long break from tennis by playing doubles tonight with international jewel thief Yves Allegro. I think it's on somewhere around 1am UK time, so I'll be hunting for a stream. Vamos Rogelio.

My heart sank at the baby news. And that's just crazy stupid, but it's how I felt.

Me too. All plans for future fic have gone out the window. Am thinking about delving into the past etc., wondering how the relationship might have started... either that or just going the alternative universe route.

Would HATE for slash to become too mainstream.

The news was a quite a shock for me too. Of course I'm happy for them but it breaks all of my fangirls dreams and it is now more difficult to include a slashy aspect with Rafa in his life in fanfiction of course.
So I inderstand very well what you must feel.

Did you watch Roger playing against Gicquel this night ? Initially his match would have to start at 11.30pm for us (Paris time, so for you 10.30 no ?) but the organizers at the last minute programmed Tsonga instead. Arghhh !!! So Roger's match only began at 01 am this night to end at about 2.30... So hard for me XD. I'm so sleepy now, I think I'm going to sleep all my sunday XD

Roger was not bad even if there were some faults that I don't want to see in his game.

If you thought last night's Roger match was at a bad time, just wait for tonight's doubles match! It's going to start around 9pm or so Pacific Standard time. That's around midnight for me. Can't even imagine what time it would be for you. XD

I ca sympathise with you on the baby news ... it'll be the same when a certain boy band I know and love splits because one of them wants to marry. ... well at least three of them can marry and the other two can when Japan's laws change or something . ^_~
