That was a difficult match to watch - turns out Rafa has some sort of knee injury, which got steadily worse throughout the match, until by the third set it was actually dreadful to watch because he could hardly get about the court. Sad. I think he kept playing out of respect for Mandy though-- it being the final-- because it would've pretty much robbed Mandy of the win if he'd retired. 6-3 4-6 6-0 to Mand.

In the awards ceremony Mandy was very sweet and made Rafa smile in a goofy way behind his bunch of flowers. (Youtube of the trophy ceremony) He said:

"Sorry to Rafa, I know he hurt his leg. It shows how good a player he is - he was still managing to beat me on one leg."

I didn't manage to see the match, but ouch, poor Rafa. Hope he gets lots of rest and treatment before Dubai, Roger will be able to make him some lovely pies to keep his spirits up!

Also well done Murray for being kind and generous in his acceptance speech.

He was, which is annoying for me as I was not his greatest fan, you know, after all the beatings of Roger and whatnot, but yes, he's growing on me. If only the British media would now stop thinking the sun shone out off his backside, I'd be happy to jump aboard the Mandy ship!

I missed most of the match this week. Thanks for the link to the trophy ceremony. Mandy really is making grounds. Oh and something happened in that elevator (http://somarem.livejournal.com/21879.html), I'm sure. I'm just waiting for the fic.

And what's with the pie plates, could they have gone for medium and large for runner up and winner as opposed to single serving pie and small pie tins.

Flowers are pretty though and Rafa know's how to hold his flowers properly...

Am I the only one who thinks Andy's actually kind of hot? I mean not in the fedal league, but a bit, when he shaves and doesn't scowl...?
