A cake shop where hot men gather!

The Korean movie version of Antique Bakery looks-- wow. Pretty, and with lots of hot men kissing in the vicinity of delicious cakes! Oh, so true to Fumi Yoshinaga's adorable and crackaddled vision. I hope they also capture the subtler things too, like Tachibana's acceptance of his past. From this trailer, perhaps that looks unlikely, it's hard to say.
Although what happened to Ono's short red hair? But at least there is twirling round in the rain with Chi (We spun round in the rain together, didn't we?" ♥). Also, Tachibana looks great. I loved the actor who played him in the Japanese version, and the dude here has sort of the same look about him.
Watch the trailer here. With translation here. It's released on November 13 in Korea.

Date: 2008-09-28 12:00 pm (UTC)(Have you been watching the anime? I've been pretty pleased with it so far; the plots are somewhat condensed of necessity, but they've done a pretty good job of transferring Yoshinaga-sensei's soft-edged style to animation. And the seiyuu are great.)

Date: 2008-09-29 12:44 pm (UTC)Also, Ono's sex life in the manga is rather tame and cute really! A nice cosy bar he hangs out at (and occasionally molests young men in the bathroom), semi-steady relationships with men who all seem to want to marry him. I only just realised that while watching this trailer, where he's suddenly Brian Kinney of Tokyo. Night clubs! Dancing! Sexing in cars! I approve greatly, yes yes.
