They kind of... leapt out at me, so to speak. At first I was all disblelieving she'd gone there with the guts, and then I was so pleased she had. And no one to stuff them back in. Disembowelling shouldn't be so poignant.

... The conversations we have in Saiyuki fandom are weird, aren't they?

Heh. Given that I've been fantasy role-player (tabletop, not LARP) for lo, these several decades, I'm used to having conversations with friends that make random passersby stop, stare, and fetch a wide circle around us ... .

And actually, the thing is, it should be poignant. We should all be Gojyo-ish and think what we can do, not just turn away and flip out, thinking about our own feelings. As readers, all we can do for Tenpou is witness and mourn, so - here we are. Not weird at all, really.

(It does make me wonder what the Bosatsu was doing during all this ... .)
