Not really sure how safe for work some of these are...

As keen follower of men's underwear fashions, I was excited to see Alexander McQueen's take on the mankini, from his Spring 2009 range. Hmmmm. Will it catch on? I wonder.

D&G's flock of white satin suits and bow ties and geeky glasses

Dolce and Gabbana's mini pinstriped pajama shorts. Sanzo's favourite sweater

D2's shorts and dinner jacket and ankle socks! and more bow ties and giant glasses.

I can almost forgive the tube socks and hat

More Milan fashion week here

That last guy is MWAH!! I also like the Dolce and Gabbana pajama shorts and the gun sweater. I think I am being shallow, here. >_>

The mankini made me laugh, but the rest of it is a little too twee for me. Although, perhaps that's the point.

It's probably better not to wonder what the point of it all is, rather just absorb the craziness and tiny shorts.

That sweater's awesome! I wouldn't be able to resist pinging the mankini, though...

Who would? It's like swimming trucks with a built in collar and lead.

Hee! I think my favorite part is on the Sanzo's sweater guy, they actually left his fly a little undone and pulled his shirt-tail through, just a teeny bit. Oh, fashion.

Oh, they did. Well spotted!

There's something cheerfully sociopathic about the expression on that guy in the Sanzo sweater. I cannot help but approve.

Of course, the shorts-with-dinner-jacket ensemble left me horribly in mind of a taller, more muscular, more tan, less Asian version of Tsukiyono Omi from Weiss Kreuz, which kind of breaks my brain a bit. >_>

Oh my god, it is grown up Omi! That casts him a whole new scary light, I have to say.

Ahaha, omg. omg XD Thanks for posting these links! (I was just drooling at the NYT's photos this morning, and it really made my work day a whole lot brighter.) (All this just makes me want to illustrate emungere's Cut Out In Stars--and model!Hakkai and/or model!Gojyo in general--EVEN MORE. Why, why do I have to work instead?? XD;; )

Woe!! I wish you could devote all your time to to drawing Gojyo and Hakkai.

*is selfless*

Whenever I think of Cut out of Stars Hakkai, I think of this picture: http://pics.livejournal.com/louiselux/pic/000cdsyt/g10

omg! Weirdest coincidence--I have been on such a Ryuhei Matsuda kick lately. XD Those pics are very model!Hakkai. Mmmmmm.

(Randomly-- Speaking of RM, have you seen Big Bang Love, Juvenile A? XD Strange, arty, very pretty, and featuring RM serving a prison sentence as a murderous callboy(?). [Ryuhei and cellmate] [teh sexual tensions] [yummy] [I'm too sexy for this prison] [I'm too sexy for your cinematography] [did I mention his cellmate's disappearing/reappearing full-body tattoo?]) /RM squee

Hehehe! He is such a beautiful man. I haven't seen Big Bang Love, Juvenile A (great title...) but I'm very very impressed by look of it, and the full body tattoo, guh.

Have you seen that film where RM is a samurai? It's very strange, very pretty and almost totally baffling. The film is called Gohatto.

Gohatto, yesssss! Gay samurai for the win. (It's cute, he's ~17 in Gohatto, his first film; so androgynous/pretty. As he ages, he seems to be becoming leaner, more tough-guy like his father [the late Yusaku Matsuda--he played the hottie bad guy in that 80's movie Black Rain]. Guh. ♥ I can't wait to see what RM does next...)

ETA, ETA2 - Big Bang Love is... LOL, even stranger than Gohatto. But I still recommend if you happen across it--it's illegally pretty! NSFW clip: http://youtube.com/watch?v=AXfqtqAdx2Q lmfao, this is what happens when I skim youtube clips w/o sound at work. XD Have the preview and bizarre sexy dance sequence instead. XD

Whoa! Guhhhh. That dance was amazing.

Also Ryhuei does look so androgynous in Gohatto but you can see him get more butch (well kind of) as he grows into his skin. I think he was in the Japanese tv adaptation of Nana as well, looking a lot more guy like, even with the leather collars etc.

Totally! I only just saw that a couple weeks ago--and I didn't recognize him at all. XD;; After I watched it I happened across something online that mentioned he was in it, and I tried to think who he could have played... OOPS. *dies* XD (Must rewatch. I seem to remember bathtub scenes and guitar-playing!)

He's also in these movies called Nightmare Detective. I've only seen the first one. It was... meh. Cool premise: psychic guy who enters people's dreams; strangely lame execution (except for the part where he sort of likes to take his clothes off to do the dream-invading thing!). The whole time I was thinking you or [livejournal.com profile] emungere could've written it so much better, man. ;)

Oh for Pete's sake! What is it with the horrible giant 80's glasses? They make the hunkiest model look like a crazed televanelist. Haven't we suffered enough of returning 80's fashion already... Brrr...
Them mankini was strangely alluring though. I suspect the inspiration for that one was made of leather and had a lot of studs...

I was giggling and snorting already, but [livejournal.com profile] trensaddiction's idea of a butch Omi pretty much killed me. Perhaps tube socks and hat guy will come by and revive me...
