How is it nearly May? How?

Life-speeding-by angst aside, my Sweet Charity story (one of them at least - I went with the Edwardian vampires) is done done done, waiting for a final skeg over by the beta and then it can be sent off.

PHEW

I've put some slug traps out the last two nights and the slugs have been happily throwing themselves in. Also, snails. I've been going out every night and rounding them up. My karma feels very tainted right now.

Did you go with the beer traps? They seem to love those for some reason. Sorry to hear about your karma, though. ;) But it is balanced out by the fact that now your peas are living and thriving (?).

Yay for finishing your Edwardian vampires!

I did indeed use beer - the slugs seem to love it, the snails not quite so much, or possibly the snails are able to climb out again because I'm only using small pots rather than deep glasses.

The year is flying past so quickly, it's scary!

I think I asked before, but I can't remember whether we spoke about it or not, but are you going to the meetup in July for Squee Fest? It'll be my first one and I'm a bit nervous, since so far I only know Scribbles, so I wanted to check whether anyone else I know is going. :D

Oh oh! You did ask and in fact I have been meaning to email you or IM you about this, to say yes I am going and I'd love to hang out. :) We have to watch Hakkai and Gojyo's burial arc and also I must show you the gay vampire detectives if you have not already seen it (otherWise known as RH+).

That's excellent! I expected some Saiyuki watching and very much look forward to squeeing over Burial with you & the others. :D

Ah yes, I saw you'd added me on IM. I've not been around so much lately, otherwise I'm sure I would've caught you there at some point, but I'm hopefully going to have more time online after this mad week is over with. :)

But think of the snails' karma! You're doing them a favour!

Edwardian vampires! *twirls around gleefully* Whee! I can't wait to see it.

Also, I am now curious to know exactly how one goes about fashioning a slug trap. I am visualizing some very odd things, and I'm sure they can't be correct.

I have saved some stale beer for the slugs but haven't been able to bring myself to use it.
