Seeing as how I fail at concentrating on work today, here's the answers to the questions meme I posted in, um, November.

Favorite kink?
You mean I have to choose just one? Hmmm. I like the idea of power imbalance and dubious consent, but I also like more innocent things like a really hot kiss that is a the climax of much yearning, or in fact just plain yearning. Although, I think I'm twisting porn kinks together with story kinks there but they are hard to tease apart, as the tentacle monster said to Sanzo.

Stupid question (but I'm stupid): do you prefer hakkai/gojyo or gojyo/hakkai? and why?
As in, who's on the top or bottom? I think either way is good, and for different reasons, but I don't have one set view of how they'd have sex together.

Do you write hakkai and eli writes gojyo, or does it work differently--I've always wanted to know!
When we work together we take turns in writing the whole thing, so we both write everyone. It obviously helps that we have generally a similar view of the characters, although the nice thing about writing with emungere, and I guess this is the same writing with anyone, is that they bring fresh interpretations of the character to the story that I would never have thought of. Sometimes it's like being hit over the head with a plank, but in a good way.

I was curious about your age. I've been noticing most people in my friends list - especially my favorite writers and the people I relate to the most - are much older than me. I am nineteen.
I was 38 years old last Friday so I'm exactly twice your age, young missy! People frequently tell me I look younger than that, which I greatly enjoy hearing.

Fuck marry kill: nii, hakkai, tenpou?
This is surprisingly hard... The only sensible thing would be to fuck Nii (a man of experience!), marry Hakkai (efficient housework) and kill Tenpou (a war god would be a nightmare to live with). Answers on a postcard, please.

How did you come by your LJ name?
My website used to be called fiat lux, back in the days of early Harry Potter fandom, and that was partly inspired by wanting something fancy and partly from the mural on the library of my home town (It says: Pax Lux). Louise Lux just seemed the easiest choice when I joined lj. I like having my real name as part of my fan name.

How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie roll pop?
I have absolutely no idea! I don't even know what a tootsie roll pop is. I keep imagining some sort of sausage in batter, but that might just be the fever dreams. Please tell me the answer!

When you're posting stories to lj, does having an audience that you sort-of know/are friends with ever help or hinder what you've written?
When I think too hard about a potential audience composed of friends/acquaintances, it can do both. I don't want them to think of me as a freak or a pervert. Or, more accurately, I don't want them to look askance at my writing peccadilloes, overused plot devices, overdone kinks, cliches. Knowing that an audience is judging me by my stories can make me try harder to be good, because partly I want to impress them, but it also carries with it a fear of failure that could also be stifling. Honestly, I try not to think to much about my audience when writing or even before posting. I think about them afterwards instead. However, sometimes I am writing for a specific audience, maybe only one person, and that does make a difference as I might try and include things I think they like. The trouble with that this is easy to get wrong, not being psychic.

How do you always stay so nice? You've always treated everyone with the most kindness and I'm just really awed, impressed, and amazed.
Um, thank you! I try quite hard to treat people in the way I'd like to be treated. That's not to say I'm always nice, because that would be odd. Sometimes I'm callous and strange.

I am afraid I have to agree with this assessment.

Tenpou is very fuckable and would keep you on your toes mentally (so would Hakkai). Hakkai is marriage material and he's already been trained. Plus there is the hidden depths aspect. Nii is hot but evil and unpredictable, and thus perhaps too volatile for a satisfying romp. He also seems very self-indulgent, so I think he probably wouldn't be a very attentive lover. Plus he's shagging Gyokoumen K., so he has terrible taste.

A tootsie pop is a lollipop that has tootsie roll in the center (do they have tootsie rolls in the UK?). I am partial to the cherry and orange flavors. http://www.tootsie.com/pops.html

I never heard of Tootsie rolls in the UK. We have Chupa Chups, but I don't think they're the same.

Tootsie rolls are chocolate taffy (essentially). So Tootsie pops have a fruit-flavored candy coating with a center of chocolate taffy. It doesn't sound like Chupa Chups are the same thing, but they sound pretty good!

Heh! Matching kinks! I think it's good to separate them in ones head from time to time, to understand what it is you're displaying to the world, but you're probably right. Thinking too hard about them while writing is a mistake. In fact, thinking too hard about anything while writing is probably a mistake.

Seems to me, actually, that thinking while writing is a mistake, full stop. I recently found out that I can keep the words in my head flowing better if I don't watch the screen while I type. That way I don't need to pay attention to what I'm actually writing, and thus I don't lose the thread of what I'm trying to say. Which is probably also why writing a story longhand is so difficult for me - I can't write if I don't watch, but if I watch, I can't write! ^^'

By "understanding what it is you are displaying", do you mean that seeing our stories clearer makes us able to make them better? I can't say I quite understand where separating porn and plot comes into picture there, though.
