The machine, it works!

After the clean reinstall of Win98 that left it all wonky, I decided to refit the ethernet card and reinstall the software for it. It took a while but eventually it worked and mow my geriatric 8 year old computer is running incredibly smoothly and fast. Is this one glorious last stand? Can this last? Who knows? The only extras in reinstalled are the essentials: firefox, flashplayer, semagic, office and aim.

Yay! Having a computer go down is one of the most unexpectedly annoying things that can happen. At least it wasn't your hard drive: that can be a real tragedy.

That would've been awful! My hard drive is blanked now, but at least I knew that was going to happen and had the chance to save anything important.
