[livejournal.com profile] lady_ganesh asked me qvestions for this bit of memery: comment and I will ask 5 questions, which you will then post and answer. And when people comment, you ask questions.

1. What do you do when you're not writing?

Fantasising about porn plots. Erm, and sleeping, eating, experiencing life with Mr Lux, chatting about fic on aim, chatting about random crap on aim, working 9-5 five days a week two days off at the weekends, sitting on a train commuting for an hour and a half every day, reading. Gardening, watching frogs, documenting my life with photographs, drinking wine with my friends, entertaining the little people, shopping, drinking lattes, eating bananas, cycling, pilates, cooking.

2. What's your idea of a perfect read (books or fic)?

Imagine me snuggling on the sofa on a rainy afternoon. This would be my perfect book for that time, or possibly any time when I want to switch my brain off from reality. It would be something with a fantasy/speculative fiction plot, with magic, ideally it would also have slashy UST but this is not essential, it would have exactly the type of humour I like, incredibly engaging characters, characters and places with fabulous evocative names (I recently realised I have a name fetish - I think Sarah Monette forced me to recognise when I drooled all over her place names in 'Melusine').

3. What do you like about where you live?

Specifically where I live in Reading: Sweet Masala Indian deli, the Workhouse Coffee Company, Ditta Brothers shop, Malinka Polish deli. Mmmm, lovely fudes. Also the proximity of junk shops, swimming pool, second hand records, the Butts Convenience Store. I like living in a place where lots of cultures smoosh together in one long fascinating road. Also, my friends live close by, we are only a short bike ride out from gorgeous countryside, Reading town is small enough to walk across in 20 minutes but has lots of bookshops, clothes shops and cafes and good places to eat. Red kites are living in the town centre. It has a ruined abbey, two rivers and a shop that exclusively sells doughnuts (these are not common in the UK). I like lots of things about Reading, but I have to say, even so it never actually feels like home.

4. Your favorite fictional character.

I've got a longstanding crush on Sherlock Holmes. But sorry, he is not as hot (or as angsty) as Sha Gojyo!

5. Your favorite thing to wear.

My lilac linen smock from Gap. It's dense and heavy material, and its also voluminous but with a drawstrng around the bottom of it so it can be cinched in. I just love wearing it.

Heee, your icon!!!

Reading has lots of good things about it, although I should also say that it was bombed heavily during WW2 and so has a legacy of concrete monstrosities from the 60s. Although these are gradually going and nowadays the town centre is quite pretty.

[livejournal.com profile] tiggymalvern did the photo, the rest was quite easy.

Oh, concrete monstrosities! My college had a good number of them as well, due to fires over the years (the luxury of the New World, I suppose, we can set our own fires).
