[livejournal.com profile] lady_ganesh asked me qvestions for this bit of memery: comment and I will ask 5 questions, which you will then post and answer. And when people comment, you ask questions.

1. What do you do when you're not writing?

Fantasising about porn plots. Erm, and sleeping, eating, experiencing life with Mr Lux, chatting about fic on aim, chatting about random crap on aim, working 9-5 five days a week two days off at the weekends, sitting on a train commuting for an hour and a half every day, reading. Gardening, watching frogs, documenting my life with photographs, drinking wine with my friends, entertaining the little people, shopping, drinking lattes, eating bananas, cycling, pilates, cooking.

2. What's your idea of a perfect read (books or fic)?

Imagine me snuggling on the sofa on a rainy afternoon. This would be my perfect book for that time, or possibly any time when I want to switch my brain off from reality. It would be something with a fantasy/speculative fiction plot, with magic, ideally it would also have slashy UST but this is not essential, it would have exactly the type of humour I like, incredibly engaging characters, characters and places with fabulous evocative names (I recently realised I have a name fetish - I think Sarah Monette forced me to recognise when I drooled all over her place names in 'Melusine').

3. What do you like about where you live?

Specifically where I live in Reading: Sweet Masala Indian deli, the Workhouse Coffee Company, Ditta Brothers shop, Malinka Polish deli. Mmmm, lovely fudes. Also the proximity of junk shops, swimming pool, second hand records, the Butts Convenience Store. I like living in a place where lots of cultures smoosh together in one long fascinating road. Also, my friends live close by, we are only a short bike ride out from gorgeous countryside, Reading town is small enough to walk across in 20 minutes but has lots of bookshops, clothes shops and cafes and good places to eat. Red kites are living in the town centre. It has a ruined abbey, two rivers and a shop that exclusively sells doughnuts (these are not common in the UK). I like lots of things about Reading, but I have to say, even so it never actually feels like home.

4. Your favorite fictional character.

I've got a longstanding crush on Sherlock Holmes. But sorry, he is not as hot (or as angsty) as Sha Gojyo!

5. Your favorite thing to wear.

My lilac linen smock from Gap. It's dense and heavy material, and its also voluminous but with a drawstrng around the bottom of it so it can be cinched in. I just love wearing it.

omg. Gojyo and Hakkai as Watson and Sherlock.

I'll leave that thought with you...

Ahahaha. Oh dear. Well, Watson was a ladies' man, wasn't he? It might work!

Would you like some questions as well as filling my mind with more AU plots?

Do you find that your research skills are useful in other areas of your life?

What is your story editing process?

Which fictional character would you most like to meet?

Ninja or pirate?

Which quality do you like most about yourself?

From: [identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com
Another one has opened up too - I think the Butts are taking over.

What is your special magical ability? (I know you have them)

What would be your ideal job?

Which writer do you most admire and why?

Which cities would you most like to visit?

Have you mastered that weird stomach clenching thing you have to do in Pilates yet?

Hmmmyeah

SHrlock Hakkai and Dr GJyo Watson.

Oh yes and can we have Mrs Sanzo McCLeaning Lady (I ought to give Sanzo a better part huh!) lady and Goku as one of the Baker Street Irregulars. Nii as Moriarty (I think). Who would we get to be Irene Adler though? There you go of course...a better part I sadi...Sanzo can be Irene

I cannot think of anything you could possibly ask me (I'm not too incredibly interesting - just your average housewife and mother) but if you wanna you can.

Ooo. Reading sounds quite lovely. I always admire the pictures you post of it, too. I'd like to see it sometime.

Question meee!

He was! And Holmes was certainly...eccentric.

Dude, I love your idea of a perfect reading day. I share it, myself, as I love the rain and lazing about in it and being transported to different worlds only to come back and have it still be drizzling. :D

And yay for Holmes! :D *loves on the Hounds, baby*

(And yes, you can totally ask away ~_^)

Now all I can think about is Sanzo, the sullen chain-smoking cleaning 'lady'. I expect he would bitch at Watson and Sherlock constantly and do a terrible job at cleaning. Probably they would only keep him around for the eye-candy. Perhaps he would wear a maid's uniform too.

...I need to stop thinking about this immediately.

NOnononono! If a fic came out of this give us a shout ok!

Cackle snort!

He would also complain about having to feed that dirty street urchin who keeps coming round leaving soot an' muck all over the place and 'don't they teach young 'uns manners these days!'

heee!

You may have a Butts convenience store, but I have a D. R. Butt, Quality Butchers on my road. I always read it as Doctor Butt-Butcher, which amuses me a great deal because I am five.

Interview me. :D

Melusine sounds so pretty!

Sherlock Holmes is asking to be Hakkai incarnated *__* I swear it's mere coincidence that THIS (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/59852683/) happened two days ago~

Weeee, question me! :D

Um, I cram it in whereever I can, I think. During my commute, or in the evening. I'm generally very bad at writing at weekends though.

Qvestions!

1. What would be your dream job?

2. I'd really like to know more about your writing process - please describe it! :)

3. Describe your shoes.

4. If you were going to get a tattoo, what would it be?

5. Where would be your ideal place to live?

From: [identity profile] louiselux.livejournal.com
Hee, okay boring housewife and mother!! (I do not believe you are boring for a second)

1. If you were youkai, what form would your weapon take?

2. Are you going to come back to visit the UK one day?

3. If you were going to write a really long cracktastic fanfic, what would the plot involve?

4. Describe a (non-human) object in your home that you like a lot.

5. Where's your favourite place to get a cup of tea?

Butts, for your convenience!

1. Do you do random sketches of thing and people when they catch your attention?

2. Describe your perfect garden

3. What would you prefer: instant teleportation device or an invisibility cloak?

4. If you were an assassin, what would be your cover? (not allowed to say florist!)

5. Describe your hands.

Heee, your icon!!!

Reading has lots of good things about it, although I should also say that it was bombed heavily during WW2 and so has a legacy of concrete monstrosities from the 60s. Although these are gradually going and nowadays the town centre is quite pretty.

1. Do you do random sketches of thing and people when they catch your attention?
Nope. But I let them sit in my head and cook. They show up in the work later, often surprising me completely. I had a guy who stopped me and asked for directions a while ago who is the basis for Arkos. Looked a like that Bruno fellow. Except shirtless, driving an SUV, and hotter. If you can believe it.

2. Describe your perfect garden
Ooooooh. Back of a house, and lots of trees overhanging the edges of the yard, and a good tall privacy fence, but plenty of sun in the middle bits. Then raised beds, lots of them, with lots of flowers. Zinnias, especially scarlet ones (scarlet zinnias are Gojyo's flower--they mean constancy), and nasturtiums, and small sunflowers, and whole swathes of marigolds, both african and pot marigolds. And Morning Glories climbing stuff, hoofing over things and spilling from pots. And also vegetables. Heavy on the squash and cukes and greens because I love those. But I also would love to have a caracalla bean plant. And big, comfy chairs for me to read in and space near their feet, in the shade, for Pookie.

3. What would you prefer: instant teleportation device or an invisibility cloak?
Teleportation! Because I would love to meet way too many neat people for drinks at the drop of a hat, or deliver chocolate buttercream frosting to those in need.

4. If you were an assassin, what would be your cover? (not allowed to say florist!)
Ooooh. Hm. Aerobics instructor! Good reason to stay fit and climb things.

5. Describe your hands.
They're small, actually. I had the smallest hands in college (you know how college is when you're in a dorm and go around comparing things). You know those tiny knit stretch gloves? They don't really stretch on me. That's about how big my hands are. Short, somewhat stubby fingers. I can stretch my thumb and pinky finger wide into a straight line, though, which used to impress piano players. Blunt, square nails. Big, ugly knuckles. They work well, though.

[livejournal.com profile] tiggymalvern did the photo, the rest was quite easy.

Oh, concrete monstrosities! My college had a good number of them as well, due to fires over the years (the luxury of the New World, I suppose, we can set our own fires).

Compared to other towns in the UK, Reading isn't really that pretty, but it does have some really good bits!

Qvestions, and sorry there has been a delay:

How did you first get into fandom?

How do you choose which WIP to work on at any given time?

What's your ideal career?

Describe a favourite personal possession

If you were going to live abroad, which country would you move to?
