I did see this on my flist this morning, but now I can't find it.
Ask me about my fic--something I wrote, character, plotline, even a really short commentary--and I'll give you an explanation, snippet, or something. Kind of like a dvd commentary, but shorter and faster.
Not sure about the snippet side of things, but I'd love to answer any questions anyone might have.

Date: 2007-06-20 03:28 pm (UTC)In the Stripper!Gojyo fic, before he kisses Hakkai in the limo, what was Hakkai's opinion of the whole situation? Did he know how much Gojyo wanted him, or did he believe it was all just business? How surprised wa he to be jumped?

Date: 2007-06-20 03:38 pm (UTC)Okay... it was a 4-way tie between "Copper Red", "Solitary", "Bad Mr. Cho", and "Written on the Skin"... so I picked it out of a hat. (Don't laugh... I really did!)
(And I tried to think if you've ever said anything about continuing any of the above four... and I can't remember. So if a continuation is in the plans for sometime in the future, you don't have to say anything now. If you don't want to. *smile*)
Question: in Copper Red, when you started writing it, what was the strongest visual image that you started with? Was it a whole scene, or just the picture of Gojyo as a catboy? (And if you don't mind a second related question... Do you think they ever met up with Sanzo and Goku in that universe?) And I'm pretty sure that Gojyo ended up staying with Hakkai for quite a long time... I like imagining different 'home-life' scenarios for that particular story. *shivers at the possibilities*)

Date: 2007-06-21 08:26 pm (UTC)He does stay with Hakkai for a long time. That's funny, because I rather like imagining home life scenarios for them, like Gojyo lounging on the bed all day and then running off all night, unless Hakkai can manage to keep him happy and distracted at home. Sooo, what scenarios do you imagine? :D

Date: 2007-06-27 06:39 pm (UTC)I'm glad that they meet up with Sanzo and Goku, and I'd love to know what kind of roles they have in that world. I'm sure Sanzo is somehow both shady and pure at the same time (LOL Sanzo hates it when I think of him like that)... maybe an underworld priest? and Goku... I can never quite make up my mind about what Goku would be. Savage? Innocent? A blending of both that somehow just always works for Goku? Always always attached to Sanzo, though. And I'm enough of a sap to want them all somehow to meet and stay together for a while.... *sigh* Yeah, I know. As much as I love the violence and blood and pure darkness of Saiyuki... I am just always wanting them to get whatever happiness they can after such troubles.
And if I haven't said it enough, I love what you write and how you write and all the descriptions and everything that you include that makes my breath hitch and my focus narrow until I'm utterly swept up in the worlds you create with your words.
Hmmm... Gojyo's home-life scenarios. *grin* Well, I imagine that Mr. Sato wasn't too generous or allowing with Gojyo, so Hakkai's house is probably a lot of fun for him. I imagine Hakkai coming home with a replacement collar (that is far more suited to Gojyo's appearance and taste) but that always leads to imagining collar!sex. Which is always fun... even when you add in a snarling, angry Gojyo (which sometimes happens). Another scenario I pictured was Gojyo getting into Hakkai's kitchen, having never been allowed near the kitchen before, and accidentally making a total mess. (Which sometimes leads to the cutest mental image of a tiny catboy!Gojyo covered in flour while Hakkai just smiles at him.) Other times it's the adult catboy!Gojyo covered in flour... who gets slightly nervous when he sees Hakkai's razor smile and hears the suggestion of "Oh, dear. We'll have to clean this up, won't we, Gojyo?" *smirk* And then there's the whole raft of ideas (some insane, some kind of rational) about what Hakkai would do about Gojyo constantly interupting him with the comment, "But Hakkai, I'm bored." And then the fluff comes in (yep, fluff) when I imagine Hakkai spending hours simply grooming Gojyo... brushing his hair, running his hand over Gojyo's ears, tail, and skin. I think that Hakkai would actually be able to turn Gojyo into a melted puddle of purrring happiness with his clever fingers. *smile*
Um... no. *laughs* I haven't put any kind of thought into Gojyo's home life scenarios at all.

Date: 2007-06-26 12:29 pm (UTC)He is living in his car. A deal went badly wrong for him and he was expelled from his gang. Really, they wanted to kill him, but he ran away before they could. So he's looking for his brother for help, except his brother has disappeared. Last seen in the Soapland!
Their mother is dead. I don't know if you've read Wild Adapter, but I imagine his home life is like that of Komiya in vol.1. His mother was addicted to drugs and was a prostitute, and Ishi got into the gangster life almost as a matter of course, having few other choices. And his brother is far more deeply involved in the underworld, but is longong to get out and start a proper life.

(Hee. Quite curious about Hakkai, too, but in the way that I would love to read a whole story about his origins (and destination), you know? :D He's so quiet and fascinating in that story. Mm, and soapy.)
Oh goody!

Date: 2007-06-26 12:34 pm (UTC)I can answer the other bit of the question though. The prompt was 'bad first time', which got me considering various bad first time scenarios. I'm not quite sure when the dead cow arrived, but it was probably during a conversation with
I hope that answers your question, at least a little?
Re: Oh goody!
Date: 2007-06-26 01:48 pm (UTC)As I suspected you would. That's okay, I'll keep coming up with bizarre and troubling scenarios in my own head, in absence of any official answers.
One of my favourite things about Saiyuki is the way that the characters have a lot of depth - they are in some senses very bad people, and they have lived violent and painful lives.
That's what I love about the best Saiyuki fan writing, that the characters' violence and pain and "badness" are accurately represented, yet I still adore them. (My own writing is sadly deficient in that; I've always been, in all my fandoms, either a "redeemer" of the Bad Boy/s - or Girl/s - OR I overlook the darker qualities I can't deal with, not quite ignoring them but writing around them. Does that make any sense?)
I hope that answers your question, at least a little?
A little. ;) Thank you for taking the time.
