Yes, this means UK now has ways and means of making phone posts.

I don't know. At least you don't study dead animals.

I ♥ your icon.

That is true! It could be worse. Or I could stuff them.

Discworld quotes are sometimes just begging to become icons... :)

Suddenly I feel better about my choice of specialisation. Yes. At least I don't stuff animals. There's always something worse. *grin*

I had some vague idea that you were studying archaeology. I'm wrong, aren't I?

No, no, you're totally right. I'm doing zooarchaeology now though, mostly. Dead animals. But at least they're very dead and therefore not actually squishy and otherwise gross? *g* (And it probably weirds less people out than the whole digging up dead people thing, which I did for a few years...)

Oh I see! So fossilised things or just very very very dead? Were the people you dug up like the animals? That must've been very odd, anyway.

Just very dead. Not quite that far back. The people were from about 700-800 AD, Anglo-Saxon. Most of the animal bone at the moment is from more like 3000 BC, so... thoroughly dead. From a site in Iraq.

It's one of those things which didn't actually seem that weird at the time, somehow. It's really different to dealing with animal bone, obviously, but... hm. I'm not even sure how to explain. *laughs*

My office is also completely empty . . . alas, the phone that makes more than local calls (ie, the fax machine) is located in a room that will become haunted by the boss at any point. (We've tried yelling "The power of Christ compels you!" at him, but he keeps coming back :-)

Wagh! I didn't know playing with transcription would be public.

I thought, at first, it would be some sort of voice recognition, but no, it's listen and type. It also seems to be listen and type in one go' cause I couldn't edit the text once I'd stopped and restarted the sound.

I couldn't make voice posts work at the weekend either. Technology seems to have defeated me.:(

No worries, although the correct (!) spelling of my regional greeting is 'ey up mi ducks'. You know, just in case you ever have to type it again.

I didn't know it would be listen and type - you'd have to be dedicated to do that!

I carefully avoided saying that!

Nah, it was a lovely post. I had visions of you hiding under your desk with a mischievous gleam in your eye and your hair slightly mussed up in a boffinesque kind of way. Am I close?

It was kind of like that, although I was more lounging in front of my desk, hardly having to hide at all. Mussed hair, mischievious gleam, yes. Being pictured as boffinesque is one of my favourite things!

Ah it's in the posting. How long did it take for it to regiter the number and all? Cos I tried it on my authorised phone and it wouldn't log me in. :sulk:
