Because I have a fancy new camera...
Dec. 24th, 2006 12:49 pmSights around Reading this winter:

The Christmas display in the window of Jackson's department store - the whole town is too scared to go in there.

"Are you my mummy?"

A bit of old Reading Abbey that no one could think what to do with, so they set it on bricks in the graveyard.

I love that there was an entire association devoted to them and also that they were thought of as the same thing! This attractive monument is outside the swimming baths near my hour, just on the pavement. I don't know if it is still in its original position- it could be, otherwise it is an odd place to have a cattle trough.

This is actually not Reading, it's Birmingham, but I like the picture a lot because of the contrast of the two structures.

My favourite thing about Christmas is being able to put a tree in the sitting room! I love the way it smells and looks and just the fact that... it's a tree. There is something deeply magical about putting coloured lights in trees.

They are the comfiest ones I've ever had, honestly. Made by Clarks, they are suede, foot shaped and have a thick crepe soul.
