yep - most often made with sticky rice and sugar, boiled/steamed/baked and coming out in a hundred different forms.
some of it is seasonal - two i know of are made and eaten at Christmas. another serves double duty as decoration and food, although it tastes rather bland.
a lot of it comes from Spanish and Chinese cuisine.
