I've never even picked up any of those books, so you've got further than me. Sometimes you have to just accept that some books are not for you, or possibly even not readable.
But The Master and Margarita is so wonderfully trashy! It's a FANFIC! It has everything! Pontius Pilate's POV, naked flying witches, publishing politics, multiple chase scenes and lush foodporn! Okay, it really lacks in the sexy bishies department, yes. But devil's posse is quite hot, and the gunslinging, hard-drinking cat almost qualifies as a bishie, in a way. Maybe the translation is sucky?
