So I was meant to spend today turning my [livejournal.com profile] yaoi_challenge notes into fic, but ended up sleeping till lunchtime, then going shopping, writing completely unrelated porn, cleaning the kitchen and the bathroom and then reading lj (very important, that). I suck.

On the bright side, I got a good haul from the shops.

I went in with the idea of maybe buying some new trainers, maybe dinky, sweet ones like these, but there were too many people and it all seemed too much effort.

Instead, I went mad in John Lewis and spent £26 on shower gel. Okay, I knowwww. But it was Philosophy and I did get three large bottles. They smell so good - really clean and soapy and fresh. One of them, called Baby Grace, smells likea mix between parma violets and eau de colonge and I couldn't stop sniffing it.

Muji do really good knickers in plain cotton and in a nice shape-- like little low waisted shorts. They're so comfy I went out ot get two more pairs today even though they're not exactly cheap (nearly six quid a go). The UK 14 fits me, which is a nice surprise.

And then I tried on jeans in M&S and came away distraught by how badly they all fitted. So I went to their foodhall and bought fish curry, grapes and lentil soup, got myself a decaf latte and staggered off to load up my bicycle.

On the way home, I nipped into Escape comics, where I briefly enjoyed making teeanage boys twitch, but they didn't have the Buffy comics that I wanted to get. Bum.

Mmmm, violets. And fish curry! Wow, that sounds incredibly good right now.

I bought possibly the ugliest scarf in creation (http://www.overstock.com/?page=proframe&prod_id=1983886) yesterday while Christmas shopping for other people. I love it, but I don't know why I love it.

Fish curry sounds good right now too - maybe I will buy more on the way home.

Mmmmm, shower gel of violets! And, though they are by no means as pretty as the trainers you were looking at and are pricey, the Asics Gel Kayano (http://www.startfitness.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl?SS=kayano&PR=-1&TB=A&SHOP=&gclid=CI2wsrLfnIgCFQvVXgodHTIkSw) style are about the most comfortable things I've ever worn. It took one day to break them in and then I wore them all around New York. (But they really aren't pretty, alas).

I kicked at my yaoi challenge story today. I think it may have won.

I finished reading it yesterday! It's so good - the historicalness and the au-ness and everything. Gah! You should probably write an epic...

Not so pretty, but comfort is far more important, specially when you're trogging round cities. *has memories of painful wandering up and down covent garden*

Yay, thank you :-)

Comfort is all. Right now I'm wearing shoes that are usually ok, but I haven't worn them in almost seven months . . .

Arrgh, deadlines. Why are they so necessary for us fic writers?

If you want I will buy you things from Muuuuji and convey them to you by post! They have such lovely things. I have to be careful not to buy the whole shop.

I'd take you up on that offer, but my favourite thing is the round spirally orange cake and I don't think that would pass customs, would it?

I know, whenever I encounter a muji, I have to also be careful not to buy the whole shop... It's such a dangerous place.

Hee! If my experience is anything to go by, after spending any time in a comic store on a Saturday, sweet-smelling toiletries are essential. I don't know if it's their hangovers or their hormones, but a lot of those boys smell.

I sound weird, don't I?

Oooooooh, Philosophy. Have you tried Cinnamon Buns? It's my favorite of their shower gel line. And even though their facial cleanser isn't advertised as smelling delicious, it does. It's the only stuff that doesn't make me break out.

I tried the facial cleanser and really liked it - very non drying. I tried the Hope in Jar stuff too - not bad and I like the almost medicinal smell, but it's slighty over greasy for my skin.

I haven't tried the foodie smelling ones yet, but I am developing an intense love affair with their Grace shower gel though.
