ranalore, Saiyuki/PotC crossover and really very adorable. (eta: changed the link! oops)
There's been some interesting Saiyuki meta dotted about the place recently:
cicer: Gojyo and sex
devikun - bits of Saiyuki translations that baffle eg, Jack of all trades and master of none, and
flemmings elaborates on what the Japanese equivalent of this phrase actually means.
In other news...
We are having a Buffyathon at my house. We watched all of season two, and now half of season three. Poor lonely Faith. I keep thinking of her as female version of Gojyo, and that way madness lies because then I have to work out who is Hakkai, and Sanzo and then doom.
I watched the first four eps of Heroes: - the two main women heroes being a stripper and a cheerleader is annoying, although I like them and find them more interesting than the men. Gah, the men are also annoying. That said, it is quite enjoyable plotwise and I hope it will grow on me, but dear god it's seriously lacking in humour-- well, okay, Hiro is funny, but more in a laugh at him rather than laugh with him way. I loved the moment at the end of episode four when he came back from the future, and there is the hint of future tragedy and badness. Though probably not any jokes.
I also have things to say about XxxHolic 8 and 9, Melusine and The Virtu, The Prestige and Connotations, but where is the time? I have porn to write, and my yaoi challenge story, and then more porn. Ahh, the busy schedule.

Date: 2006-10-24 07:35 pm (UTC)I'm frankly just enjoying the...enjoyable-ness (is that a word?) of the whole thing. And the fact that it's not all about who is sexing up who, you know? I mean, sexing is all well and good, but sometimes other things happen.
How specifically do you find the male chars annoying? *curious* I don't find any of them particularly grating..although it is extremely weird that all the people with powers are from the US except Hiro. I mean, if it was ALL Americans, that would still be self-centered but at least I could say, "Well, maybe since this is a crusade to save NYC maybe the enemy is inside the US government or something and at any rate only American heroes are going to become involved." But then they throw in Hiro as an attempt at multiculturalism, and I go, "Bzuh?"
Finally, I hate to bring us back to this whole issue, but I must know- Am I alone in thinking Suresh's accent is like aural sex?

Saiyuki slayers
Date: 2006-10-25 04:10 pm (UTC)Then, Hakkai= Willow (I know there was no love lost between the two ... but it could have worked) ^__^, and Willow did go beserker when her girlfriend got dead and became evil.
Goku = Zander (or is it Xander)
Sanzo = Buffy (its the mission thing)
The three stooges,(Jonathon and the other two) : Homura, Shien and Zenon
Kougaiji : Spike (phwoaarr!)
Gyoukomon (sorry the spelling escapes me now) : Glory
Nii : Wesley
Dokugakuji : Oz
Lirin : Dawn
Koumyou : Giles
Anyhow this is me being really too lazy to do anything else. Sorry for the randomness.

Mmmmdoom. Goku shall be Dawn in my head, just so someone can whack her with a fan when she gets/continues to be annoying. otherwise, probably not a very accurate comparison.

Date: 2006-10-25 09:54 am (UTC)Goku shall be Dawn in my head,
In that case Sanzo is definitely Buffy - blond, skinny, fabulous hair and with a thing for offing demons.
Oops! Thanks for pointing that out - it had utterly escaped my attention.
