Thanks for the comments on the last ones! I will answer them soon, when my tendons are happier. Meanwhile, here are my searing insights into my current works-in-progress and why PWPs aren't. Also, I managed to download a proper podcasting program, go me. File is MP3, 1.8mb, via yousendit.

Date: 2006-09-02 01:20 am (UTC)I've really enjoyed these voiceposts for a few different reasons: a) I love Saiyuki and I adore your fic and I'm really glad to hear I'm pronouncing Gojyo and Hakkai's names correctly, and b) I, too, sound quite high-pitched and young in real life. In fact if it's any consolation I have been told I sound about nine on the phone and have had a few 'Is mummy there?' experiences to prove it. Your voice is charming though. And c) my freak-out is not over the fact you sound British, because I am British and have always known you were too, but you're northern, which is no biggie, but I'd love to know whereabouts.
By the way, did I say I think your fic is fantastic? Well, I do. You wrote, amongst other things, 'Ne Me Quitte Pas', didn't you? It broke me in half. I love to be broken in half, generally speaking, so you get my vote. Did you do the teacher!Hakkai/pupil!Gojyo fic-of-wrongness too? That also got my vote.
This is what happens if you make voice-posts. People have the temerity to think they've actually met you, and start speaking incredibly familiarly to you. Has it been weird?
Plus, I couldn't agree more with your thoughts about PWPs. It's a useful classifier, but ultimately there's no such thing: all fics, even the most porniest and pointless, have a plot - the characters and their dynamic - whether the writer intends it or not.

Date: 2006-09-02 07:07 pm (UTC)I am from the Midlands, actually, Nottingham. Although my accent is not very strong. It's good to hear it's still there though.

Date: 2006-09-02 03:36 am (UTC)You know, it occurs to me that if you were to read one of your stories over the phone, as an lj post (and I'm thinking about 'Seeing'), it would almost be like phone sex. ^_^
