Yes! As it was, my handluggage was taken at check in. People on earlier flights were having theirs taken at the gates, so I must have been there for the start of the crackdown.
They just insisted it got checked - I suppose whatever happens to hold luggage after if it whisked away happened to my random books of manga and the other stuff shoved in there!
I have the straws! I had to leave something equally odd in return!
(And I'm the world's laziest person. I've only been dressed for about 40 minutes and having been nibbling on brunch like items left for me by my mother. Mmmm).

I'm glad daegaer missed the worst of this. I am, however, all kinds of pissed off about the fact that it will likely have an impact upon my own flight out of Heathrow on the 15th.
