I came out of the dentist this morning with a brand new filling and scaled and polished teeth. The first song on my ipod was Comfortably Numb.

That's the last of it, thank god. I made a six monthly check up appointment too, like a normal, sensible person.

Teeth! Shiny teeth!

I'm glad that's over (not as glad as you, I'll bet :-)

for your delectation: Double Dear (http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=628972C1089A6271) - sung by the Saiyuki and the Weiss Kreuz actors together! (Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] karose)

Oh dear god! The ikkou and Weiss in a recoding studio! You have to wonder how they met...I can hardly believe I have listened to it twice now. The weiss people sing the first verse and the saiyuki people sing the second, right?

It sounds like they even made Hakkai's voice actor sing, who really can't, and who apparently hates it. He sounds like someone's applying a hot poker to him on this. Poor bastard!

I think it's the weiss lads first - that harmonising seems designed to show off Koyasu's voice (that man's a living Mary-Sue :-)

Ah, the strangenesses of world popular culture! (Did you see the youtube vid of the Saiyuki actors doing a live reading of one of the episodes?)

Thank you! I have survived the ordeal. *is brave*

I went into Blackwells yesterday and the rude fat man there was actually really nice to me! Shock. They also had actual manga I wanted to buy! Hikaru no Go, vols 3 and 4. It's pretty good.

Wow! You must have caught him on a good day, lol!

Oh, I don't know that manga. I'll have to look it up on amazon ^_~!

Hey, guess who I met yesterday at the London Film & Comic Con? The TokyoPop guy from the event at Reading! We had a long chat, I think he was bored *bless* but he says that they are going to have another event at Blackwells in the autumn and it will be bigger and better than the last one ^_^!

*blink* Um... what did the dentist do when scaling your teeth? Take the rough edges off? *scratches head* Whatever it is... probably didn't hurt because of the drugs.

I hate going to the dentist with a passion... however, each six months finds me sitting in that chair like a good little girl. *sigh* Good thing it's over for you for a whole 6 months! =)

If she's talking about the procedure I think she's talking about, it's rather, er, unpleasant. What they do is numb you up with novocaine and then scrape out plaque and tartar unpleasantness from below your gumline. I believe it's mostly done in cases where the gums have pulled away from the teeth, and as a treatment for periodontal disease.

And that's why you should floss!

Oh, no, hang on! I have healthy gums. But they did scrape away tartar.

Ah, that's much better, then. Can you tell they showed me a video on periodontal disease at my last appointment that scared the bejesus out of me? (Video: "This is what it looks like when your BONE ERODES." Me: *shriek*)

Enjoy your six months of freedom :)

*blink* Whoa.

And that's why you should floss!

*runs for the floss*

That's not a very pleasant mental image, is it... you couldn't pay me enough to be a dentist or a dental assistant. Ick.

They scrape away tartar and stuff - it doesn't really hurt very much, at least if you have okay gums.

Ohhh, okay. *shudder* Just the thought makes me glad I force myself to go every six months. And somehow... it never makes sense to me that they tell you to not put sharp objects in/near your mouth, and what does the dentist do? Takes this little curved sharp metal pick and scrapes all around your teeth anyway. *rolls eyes*

At least it didn't hurt! ^__^
