Weekend

My hands are freezing and it's far too late at night and I just wrote my yuletide fic. Ack. Late. I'm still awake though, perhaps because of the espresso martinis earlier in the Sahara bar. daegaer also had a drink that somehow said 'Sanzo' to us: the Vanilla Cherry Sparkler. It's been a very fun weekend, with lots of meetings with various people, some new, yo! kabukivice and olympia_m and darklily and some wot I already knew.

daegaer and irisbleu stayed/are still staying here and there was very silly dancing on Friday night and lots of gin and tonic and good times. On Saturday we went off to London, while irisbleu snuck off to America. We met foreverdirt and decided that we were too cheap to see the Three Emperors exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, where I picked up the hugely abridged Arthur Waley translation of Monkey, so we went to the National Gallery and looked at paintings of manly men in tight breeches and Bible scenes decorated with flying winged baby heads. That achieved, we went to Forbidden Planet and met everyone else and milled about laughing at stuff.

olympia_m and toscas_kiss bought stacks of manga. I held back and only got Antique Bakery vol 2. Oh, how I love it. It's completely adorable. The scratch and sniff cover this month is chocolate and it's turning into possibly one of one of the funniest mangas I've read. Mr Chikage!

We ate a very nice meal at Savoir Faire and there will probably be many many photos of that. olympia_m gave us all fabulous cards and I got some really pretty black pearl earrings from toscas_kiss. The people in the cubicle next door sang a very loud chant several times, possibly to drown out the heated discussion of manporn.

Apart from that I've mostly taken daegaer shopping and fed her lots of alcohol and we possibly convinced irisbleu to write some Crowley mpreg. Result! I need to sleep now.

Hee! It's so Sanzo. They're very nice too: champagne and vanilla vodka and cherry something (maybe kirsch?). Next time you're in Reading we must drop in for one.

Snuck off to America? More like flew off sullenly and hung-over only because I had the return ticket and they had threatened me with death or something similar if I wasn't planning on returning for the hols :-P
