Things to write not write write one day: the Saiyuki Saturday Night Fever AU. I don't want to think about it too much in case it gets a grip.

I stayed up very late last night watching more Due South, because I am a sad sad puppy and my brain seemed unable to take in just how pretty (ie, monumentally pretty) Paul Gross is in season one and I had to keep staring. Also, I'd skipped ahead previously to watch Victoria's Secret aka The Downfall of Benton Fraser so I'd missed quite a few s1 episodes. I need to waffle about this show at length at some point soon, because it's very good and there's stuff and things and weirdness and, oh yes, Big Gay Mountie Love.

But now I need to wash, dress and go out in the rain to meet J for lunch and to pay my credit card bill.

Wow, so long since I've seen S1 DS. I confess, I'm a Kowalski junkie. XD

Mmmm, he's so lovely. I do enjoy the Fraser and Ray V snark though, and some of those eps are so funny. I still haven't got over the crossdessing!Fraser from s2:)

I am reading lots of Due South fic right now, even though I've never seen the show and don't know even what the actors look like. But [livejournal.com profile] resonant8 and [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza are both such remarkable writers I am enjoying their stories very much. Big Gay Mountie Love is delicious, and has no calories.

I've just read all of their stuff too and am enthused. I think Chicago's Most Wanted by Speranza is probably one of the best bits of fanfic I've ever read. And, dude, if you don't even know what these men look like yet then you're in for a treat when you find out. My god. Try and get hold of some of the eps if you can.

There's some pics here of Fraser and Ray K, although a still doesn't really do them justice- they're even better on screen - Fraser and Ray K have such amazing chemistry.

Hee, that post is also very useful for me because it confirms my guesses about canon, based strictly on the fanfiction.

Another reason to see at least one S3 or 4 episode is so you can get Ray K's accent in your head. It amuses me to no end and I'm not even sure why . . .

Me too *g*. It's a funny accent-- reminds me of something but I can't think what exactly.

From what I've seen so far (all of s 1+2 and some of 3), the canon is about as full of subtext as you can get without basically turning into Queer as Folk. It's yummy. And *so* funny and clever and odd. Basically a dream of a show.

... exactly

I think it would have to be Gojyo entering the mens singles disco dancing championships, and finding unexpected luurve in the arms of clean living yet snake hipped Hakkai. Plus lots of brawling and nasty competition on the dancefloor with the others.

XD

Mileage may vary on the Rays, mind -- I personally prefer Vecchio to Kowalsky by a country mile. But then, really S3 & 4 are a different show that just happens to share a lot of the same characters: the tone is that different.

I haven't seen very much of s3 and 4, but it's already clear that the Rays are *very* different and Fraser behaves differently with them. I like them both though - Ray V has such a great line in snark and he has that softie underneath thing going on too. I can't really see Fraser/Ray V as a pairing though, I have to say, or at least, a happy pairing.
