mistressrenet and cicer both did this. Let me say nice things to you - you can never have too much love.
Comment on this post and I'll write something I value in you, like about you, like about your journal, or something positive I think you need to hear about yourself.
All my interactions with you give me a sense of warmth. I admire your honesty and openness- never having met you I feel like I can trust you and that you're the sort of person who I could confess all sorts of things and you'd accept me for what I am.
I adore your writing - you have such a talent for writing very very very hot things. A week doesn't go by when I don't go back to one of your fics to reread. I don't think I've ever got over the Hakkai/Sanzo 'Not Qite Comfort'.
Your take on life, the way you're perceptive and your confidence, and the way that, from not knowing you at all, you were suddenly this multi-fandom person who wrote amazing stuff.
You know the true beauty of orange paper airplanes. XD
I think your Care Bears icon is a work of genius. When I think of you, there's an accompanying thought at the back of my mind, which I never analyse, but which is that 'Karen's special, in a rare and precious way'. I think it comes from a combination of your clever writing and your wonderful, twisted humour.
I could just say you are awesome, and leave it there, but I don't think that's good enough for you! You give so much to fandom, and you give it with open arms too. I love your unfailing openness and honesty about sex, the way you give people a forum to talk about it with polls and discussions.
And thank you for your recs - you have wonderful taste in porn!
I love your approach to life - questioning, intellectual and not afraid to face up to and talk about difficult subjects, yet remaining very down to earth, funny and warm. And your journal entries are consistently full of awesome links. And I will forever associate you with Neil Gaiman.
Your journal is full of energy and debate. I love the way you take pleasure in things, whether it's political discussion or the little details of your life, like going for a walk or cooking. You have vitality and it is infectious.
Hmm, where to start? I know we don't talk much, but that doesn't mean I don't read your journal. I do and I love it. I love the details of your life - your teachers, your shopping trips for beads with friends, parties, coming out, your mum and dad, your photos. Thanks for letting me see all that. You write so well - simple, straightforward and honest, I feel like I'm living it with you sometimes.
On top of being Very Cool, you live in a red squirrel sanctuary too!
You take beautiful photographs - I still remember the ones of the street lights in the snow and the dumped Christmas tree. They are gorgeous and memorable.
Dragostea din Tei! Because you helped spread the madness.
On a more serious note, I have endless admiration for the way you persevere and carry on through the bad times. It's truly a lesson.
Second - although you generally don't talk about yourself much, your journal has always got some interesting thing in it, be it a drabble (or four) or a poem or some recs to good fic. There's always something to see!
Having only met you recently, the thing I value most about you is your enthusiasm and love for Saiyuki - it's very infectious! I always enjoy talking to you because of that.
Oh, what a lovely thing to say! Which, of course, is the whole point, but still.... *hugs you*
As for the cake...I'm not so sure. I think I'm more of what looks like a sugar cookie -- rather plain, and superficially sweet (and boring for folks who like nuts, raisins or chocolate chips/chunks in their cookies). But when you actually take a bite I'm not as sweet as expected, and the taste is maybe a little unusual, but the texture is chewy and satisfying. :D
I'm so glad you started using your journal - I'd see your comments around and they were always really interesting, so it makes me happy that I can get to know you better! Also, you share the Saiyuki love and so you are precious to me.
Oh, thank you so much! Ever since I started using my journal, I've been plagued with a bit of insecurity, wondering if I'm boring and obnoxious and everyone is going to hate my entries. *g* It's silly, I know, but it's so very nice to hear that you find them interesting. Thanks again. :)
Hmm, where to start? You take ideas and run with them and whatever you turn out is always worthy of comment, often very very good. Your lj is like a big party and you make it like that because you're so funny and so willing to engage with anybody. You have so much enthusiasm for the things you love that it pulls other people along with you, and that's lovely.
You rec wonderful stories - I think foodless_diet was one of the first recs ljs I came across in the early days and I still love to see you post - I always prick up my reccing ears (uh, sounds weird, huh?) XD
You've done a wonderful set of HP fic reviews in your journal that really provide food for thought. Things like that are time consuming, and it's so generous of you to give up so much of your time. Thank you!
Well, no, not too well, but it doesn't stop me from picking up on your enthusiasm and energy - it's so great, and it makes me smile. And you have been sucked into Death Note, just like me (and about 50% of my flist, apparently), and you love L. XD
