Belated happy birthday
loneraven! Hope you had a fine time.
Walking sticks have come on a bit since my grandfather's day. Not literally just 'a stick' anymore, these days they're aluminium and carbon fibre with adjustable bits and ergonomic handles. It was hard knowing how to use it at first, but I've discovered a method of swinging it in time with my step, so it acts as an extra leg next to the leg with the bad toe on it.
Having a limp is not romantic.
In other news, I must take care not to lick my newly arrived Wild Adapter manga, but it's hard because it's all so PRETTY.
Because of that, have some gratuitous picspam ofHakkai, Kubota, Komiya and Tokitoh:

Kubota is asking 'Does it hurt?', not meaning just Komiya's face.

Kubota the scary badass yakuza boss and and Komiya his henchman bury a dead cat in the park. Komiya at this point is thinking weirdo, but a weirdo he wants to be with.

Kubota finds a lost stray...

...and takes him home

That book would gain SO much from judicious application of icecream. Much, much icecream.

And I've decided to just ignore the second book, because no amount of ice cream will help that pile of miserable angst.
Much, much icecream.
And chocolate syrup. And whipped cream. Because, although I didn't know it at the time, the only appeal of those books was "OMG!Gay!"

I read a Mercedes Lackey book once, for the OMG!Gay! reason, but I hated the whiny central character so much I had to throw the book across the room, gay notwithstanding.

I swear, the only thing she was thinking while writing the second book was "how much can I torture him before readers give up?" And not enough "OMG!Gay!" to redeem it. Also no ice cream.
