No luck yet

I have a parcel waiting for me at the Post Office - won't be able to get my paws on it until Saturday though, which is almost more than I can stand. The Post Office has decidely not gone with the whole 24 hour culture thing and shuts its little parcel room at 5.30pm. Although they do have to get up very early in the morning, poor things.

In other gripping news, the green vintage 3-piece suite has had no bids so far! Perhaps putting up a picture of the tear on the arm wasn't wise. But then the person who buys it has to come to my house, and stand there with me, saying 'you never said it had a big rip in it!' That would be another thing that would be more than I could stand.

The blackbirds are chirping in the trees next to the dual carriageway and the sound is unbearably mournful - it's just that kind of day: sunny yet strangely bleak. It makes me wish I was tucked up on my settee with a blanket and some daytime tv, or something.

Apropos of nothing

...did you send me a Christmas card? I think it was you but have no memory of giving you my address.

*is a flake*

Yes - it was of a Japanese snow scene and, I think, had an orange paper plane in it.

I got your address from a 'fill out your address for a christmas card' poll that I did, so that's probably why you can't remember.

Oh, I wasn't going to do any of those this year and then I gave in on a couple of people. XD

My daughter thought that paper airplane was the best. thing. ever. So she'll have angsty memories about it someday when I'm gone, no doubt. Your garden is beautiful.

I'm glad she liked it, and that it will provoke future angst for the younger generation. It's what orange paper planes are for. I forgot that I sent pictures as well - those ones of my garden were from two years ago - it didn't look quite go good last year, for some mysterious reason.

5.30pm

Luxury! Our local sorting office closes at 1pm, 12 on Saturdays, and the Parcel Force office in West Ham closes at 3.30. No idea why, they're just bonkers.

I expect 1pm is the traditional time for the postie's afternoon kip, or something. The Post Office is a very strange organisation - I'm still trying to work out how it can lose so much money when it has a captive market.

Oh, the evils of the Post Office (evil in all countries, I fear). I think Crowley designed them.

And I'm hoping you may have 2 parcels by Saturday, bwa-ha-ha! (Well, mine might go through your letter box).

A Daegaer parcel! Squeeee!! Letter box sized, eh? That gives me a clue that it might contain some hopelessly addictive ANIME CRACK!
