The election
May. 5th, 2005 10:04 pmPlease, please don't let Michael Howard be Prime Minister tomorrow. Please. *crosses fingers*
I did a 400+ mile round trip on public transport today and no one mentioned the election. I even dragged it into the conversation twice, once with a taxi driver even, but no one wanted to say anything and I was left with the odd feeling that no one cared and that it was just passing the country by. This isn't true for everyone, obviously, but the feeling I got from today was just one of apathy; on campus, on the trains, in shops. It was very odd.
