Okay, you people have been keeping me busy *g* I'm thinking these might load a bit slowly.

[livejournal.com profile] tboy wanted to see:

As you can see, I'm a Clinique fetishist. What? They give away boxes of freebies so regularly that nearly everything I own is now Clinique, apart from No7 blusher, the colourless mascara and  the Nivea cherry lipbalm. I use the 'Aussie' shampoo brand for my hair, although I don't think it's made in Australia, but somewhere like Dagenham.

My display of melamine. This is the place where I keep most of my melamine, apart from the really big sets, which are in boxes in the cupboard. 'Eclectic' is the word I like to use for this arrangement. 'A mess' might be more appropriate. I love the bright plastickyness of it but also the lovely curvaceous shapes that came out in the 50s and 60s, which were done in more subtle colours. At the top left are some blue and green teacups - the first melamine I ever bought. That was in 1996, from a jumble sale in York.

This is some of my glass - drinking glasses mainly, although there are bowls and ashtrays and vases too. Want an ashtray?! I've got piles of them. I love every single thing on this shelf.

All of my shoes. 20 pairs!  I only wear about 5 of them with any regularity.

[livejournal.com profile] kabukivice backed up the request for shoes and added:

Feet! See, they are rather flipper-shaped and wide. They are size 5 (38)-- you can just see the remains of some ancient toenail polish.

My hand. It's a very boring sort of hand and matches my feet in its general squareness.

it's somewhat odd that this meme should be so interesting, isn't it? i mean when you think about it... .

however, i am inspired with envy for your shoe collection. even though if i had twenty pairs they would not be the same twenty pairs, i had to come to finland and save money both recently and am functioning with, i think, only five pairs.

Only five pairs? That's not so bad. I never used to have so many shoes. The thing about having 20 pairs is that you have so much more freedom to suddenly break out and wear something different like knee high boots or slingbacks.

I think the interest comes from putting people into visual context. It's hard and somewhat weird only knowing people through text.

the squareness is apparently a 'lots of saxon/danish blood' characteristic.

I didn't know that! That's very interesting.

Only 20 pairs of shoes! *g* I have about, hmm, I don't know. At least 60 or 70, probably more. They're all jumbled about in a couple of wardrobes, so I haven't counted them but I've got loads.

I only wear about 15 with any sort of regularity, though. I also forget that I've got many of them.

What? so I like shoes. *g*

60 or 70?!!

Wow. That's a serious habit you've got there, girl. *g*

I'd definitely like to see a photo of them all together... *g*

Don't hold your breath - I'm doubt that I'll ever have the energy to fish them all out and line them all up. Although, it would be interesting to find out how many pairs I've actually got. *g*

I <3 your melanine.

I got a free Clinique bag last summer, and I haven't used any of it - oh, except the bag itself, which is my default make-up bag. I don't use eye make-up remover, the lipstick's not my colour, I don't wear blusher, and the moisturisers dry my skin out and make my eyes itch. Wah!

Thank you!

I often give the more useless freebies (does anyone *ever* use eye make-up remover?) away to family and friends - usually my mum, in fact.

Fantastic! OMG, teh pretteh

*dies!*

OMG! ORANGE! You are fabulous *g*. I adore both your melamine and your glass collections, honest to God. I've never told about my thing for pretty coloured glassware - I have a tiny collection in a top cupboard, and keep looking for the extra odd piece when I get near op shops *g*.

Me: O.M.G.! She beats me, easily.
Little G : Thank God.

Love your shoes, and I don't think your feet and hands look boring *g*. They're very nice *nods*. :-D
