I went to a baby party on Saturday afternoon, and then a grown-up's party in the evening, so, not much difference there then. Except that none of the babies were leaving the country for a year. The grown-up's party was in Derby, and wasn't really a party, more an alcohol-fuelled melee charging from pub to pub. We went to the Blue Note and danced very badly and then hugged a lot and said goodbye too many times. I'm going to miss them very much indeed.

Fandom Thing
This is a bit weird. There's another Lux, who I don't know, and I'm slightly concerned that we're getting mixed up with each other, as has happened on one occasion already. Just to make sure, for anyone who is confused as to my sekrit fandom identity, I am not Lux S Rose, of snowroses.net. There.

I've been thinking about changing my fandom name before this, but it seems like such an enormous effort, and disruptive too. And I'd feel like Troy Mclure;

Hi, my name's [insert moniker here], you may remember me from such fanfics as...

Well, I'm sure I won't get round to it anyway.

I want pictures of Donald Sutherland when he was young, just to feed my new Donald Sutherland obsession. I have a postcard of him here on my desk, a photo taken by Robert Mapplethorpe, and he has the most amazing raised eyebrow I've ever seen.

I know what you mean. When I first joined fandom and wrote my first fanfic, I couldn't for the life of me come up with a name that satisfied, so I just used the initials MB. Later I came up with 'Millefiori' and that's what I called my website, and when I changed fandoms, I started using it for myself, which was a good thing since I entered HP fandom in the Snape circles somewhere around the time that Midnight Blue was posting her famous fic and from what I've seen her fans seem to refer to her as MB. Definitely don't want to get into any confusion there!

Uhm...I dunno if this is relevant to your post or not!!

It's interesting hearing about people's fandom names, and why they chose them. I got mine sort of by accident, because I couldn't come up with anything properly meaningful, and I didn't want to procrastinate any longer over it. The Lux bit was inspired by a decorative panel in my local library! I hear other people's impressive or clever tales of how they were given/thought of their name, and always feel a bit unworthy, so it's good to hear that other people stumble into their names too.
