The WTF

It's the World Tennis Finals next week (known formally as the WTF). I'm going to the semi finals day on the 28th of Nov! I'm holding out for Roger and Rafa to both get to the semis but looking at the draw, and considering their current form, that seems unlikely.

Group A: Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Juan Martin del Potro, Fernando Verdasco

Group B: Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Nikolay Davydenko, Robin Soderling

Tbh, that's the reason I wasn't too bummed at missing final or semifinal tickets. I figured the best chance I had at seeing Roger or Rafa was on the Friday. No matter how poorly they play, one of them's got to be on. (It's so depressing to have to think that way!)

I think Roger's got the tougher group on the face of it. I think Rafa could beat Kolya and Soderling (spit) IF he's got his game on, and so he could be either first or second in Group B. I think Roger would beat Nando (sorry BOF) but obviously Delpo is a risk, and it's hard to say with Mandy where he'll be at after being out for the whole season.

Tough week ahead, dude. For all of us.

Ahhh, it's going to be nerveracking!

Also, I wanted to check when you are coming down to London, because I'm wondering if you'll be passing through Reading to get there? The only reason I ask is that if the tennis does go on late on Friday then I probably won't be able to come and meet you. Also, I'm already making two trips to London next week and the expense is suddenly looking a bit grim to my credit card. That said, I'd love to meet up with you at some point if we possibly can. If you were coming through Reading on the train, maybe you could stop off and we could cocktail, or you could even stay over? Obvsly only if it's convenient for you though.

As for going to London, I'm on a pretty tight schedule. I have a meeting here on Thursday morning and am meeting people in London that evening so that side of the trip is pretty much fixed. However, maybe Saturday? You've got tickets for the semis, right? What are your plans after the tennis?

Oh, I remember now you said you had Thursday pretty much booked up. Maybe we could meet after the semis afternoon match on Saturday? I've got nothing planned at all between the afternoon and evening matches.

That sounds awesome. Sam and I are planning to be in a pub for the afternoon, so we'll try to find one nearby and you can come over! That will be great. I think I have to get a train rather early, around 6:30pm or something, but hopefully we'll be able to synch up at least for a little while. I'll send you my ph. number so we can stay in contect. :)

Oh, I must say, this was nothing like Wimbledon. Roger walking in to Robbie Williams singing 'Let me Entertain You' disco lights, general mayhem, lots of rather drunk people, wow.
