eldanis, I got your parcel this morning. Thank you for the amazing and beautiful art. I have to share it because it knocked my socks off.

eldanis drew me Edwardian vampire!Hakkai, aka Nikola from the AU bloodsucking fic An air that kills. He's remarkably like the image I had in my head of him.

I adore the gloominess created by the pencil work, and the vignette style suits the subject perfectly. His eyes are amazing, with the tiny white highlights. Gah, it's just so good.

Ahh, I'm so happy it got to you safely, and even happier that you like it! *grins like a fool* It was such a pleasure to do - the pencil I used makes such lovely, velvety blacks (it's actually called an 'Ebony' pencil), so I knew it was the perfect one for the job. ^^ You got a remarkably good scan of it - if you don't mind my asking such a banal question, what kind of scanner do you have?

Oooooohh!!!! It's wonderful! You've achieved to draw a perfect Hakkai AU incarnation! It's totally Nikola, but it's totally Hakkai too! And the style really fits the atmosphere of the fic. I'm so envious... Thanks to both Louiselux and you for sharing this!

Oh my, thank you! I was really trying for the hazy-but-strangely-sharp effect of the fog when Thomas first sees Nikola, and his eyes are like black shadows in his white face. Thank Louise for sharing - I sent her the pic, but wouldn't have presumed to share it myself if she didn't feel like it; I'm so very glad she did, though!
