Tennis, Saiyuki, life
Nov. 1st, 2008 01:07 pmSo, the Paris Masters had taken a strange turn, with both Roger and Rafa pulling out yesterday citing a back and a knee respectively. Strangely, no journalists seemed to come to the obvious conclusion of too much sexing on those hard tiled locker room floors.
Rafa's knee thing is especially worrying, because, well, knees are notoriously fragile things. Anyway, here's to them being healthy for the tennis masters cup in Shanghai.
I feel stupidly guilty about perving over this, but one silver lining was Rafa's lengthy on court shorts-hiked-up thigh massage: um hi!

cmda_alexanda drew me the most beautiful art of Thomas and Nikola from An air that kills (my Saiyuki vampire AU). I love it, it's so gorgeous. Thank you! ♥

In other news, I have not been doing much at all for the past two weeks that has involved leaving the house very much, although I have made dashes out for pajamas, fleecy coats and wooly socks. The mysterious suspected UTI from a couple of weeks ago was impervious to antibiotics, so I had to go for a scan to see if it was anything more sinister. Nothing was found and the doctor tried me on anti-inflammatories. The pain has mostly gone and I'm feeling much better. I do have a stiff back on one side still, so now I am wondering if this problem is partly muscular-skeletal, although I do think I had an infection of some sort, as I was wiped out physically and had no appetite. I wonder if the back thing is something I've done at the gym? I'm going to go to my osteopath next week, if the stiffness persists.
I went swimming yesterday, my first exercise for nearly three weeks, and I felt pretty okay. I cut Mr Lux's hair this morning and soon we're going out for lunch, for no other reason than sheer decadence.

Date: 2008-11-04 11:15 am (UTC)The whole thigh thing was HIGHLY confusing. On the one hand, worrying, but on the other, well, THIGHS.

Date: 2008-11-01 01:20 pm (UTC)I am hiding in work due to needing to do a lot of correcting (woe!) and because my neighbour wants to have a mysterious chat about something. I am afeered, due to her intense nature and the state of my garden. Does she want to complain, or tell me how I should live? Probably both! And her husband is an evangelical atheist, which never works out well, due to him being in lurve with Richard Dawkins and me thinking Richard Dawkins is a tool of massive proportions (generally, not because of his atheism).

Date: 2008-11-04 11:19 am (UTC)Oh god, your neighbour. D: I sincerely hope she doesn't want to tell you how to live, because then she'll need a kicking.
Partly due to my not paying attention to anything remotely serious I never pay much attention to Dawkins. I do find myself thinking sometimes 'yeah, okay, I pretty much share your views but do you have to be such a total dick about it?'

Date: 2008-11-01 03:22 pm (UTC)Sorry to hear about your persistent health woes. I hope you get all better soon.
Lots of love and warmth. Rest and take easy excercise and don't over extend yourself ok and do happy things and especially things that will make you laugh ... laughing and silliness is good for the body and the soul.

Date: 2008-11-04 11:24 am (UTC)Thanks! I went to the osteopath yesterday for my back and it's feeling better, although I feel a little sore. Back to work tomorrow, sigh. But yes, lots of snuggling and silliness with the man helps me a lot. :)
