Hmmm... I've got a question (or two):

I'm a non-English speaker and the convenience of having a beta turns into a necessity in my case, because I tend to invent words and structures, and the Ms. Word corrector is a big fat lie, as we all know. Am I still allowed to take part? Should I post unbetaed things? Would it be better if I searched for the help of a beta-reader in spite of the spirit of the community? Do you hate me and my questions?

Ahaaa. Actually, I don't know the answers!! I'm sorry. It would be more in the spirit of the thing if you didn't have a beta, but then if a beta is a necessity for you I don't see a way round it. Or, you could write them and then get them betad and spend more time on them, and post a link to it on the comm?

Ahaha, sorry. No one ever complimented me on my incisive decision making!! Considering your worries about your English, I would prefer if you posted betaed things and just mentioned in your notes that it's betaed

This is a very neat idea! :D I remember participating in something a bit like this in HP fandom, years ago. It was an interesting experience, since I can sometimes take days angsting over a single paragraph. *g* I think this'll be great exercise!

By the way, I meant to ask you this yesterday - are you likely to go to the 2008 Squee Fest UK? scribblemoose asked me to join and I saw you were a member, too. You guys are pretty much the only people I know on the members list, so I thought I'd ask. I'm going to try to make it as I don't have anything planned for the summer (apart from working) and it'd be nice to squee Saiyuki with people in person, and to get away from my home town for a while. :)
